We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The solution is easy to learn and with it, it's easy to replicate knowledge.""Its integration with source control is very refreshing. There could be a little bit more maturity around how to do some of the features, but not having to go outside the app, not having a separate set of procedures, allows you to check in and check out right from within the app. You can make edits and uploads and undo your checkouts.""It really does have a great dashboard. It has Bot Insight, it has MetaBots, and IQ Bots. It has so many features where it can read a file and loop.""MetaBots are useful when connecting to websites or to forms with objects that need to be captured.""MetaBot is the most valuable feature. Other products have robotic functionality but MetaBot is a kind of functionality by which code is created... so business users who do not have coding knowledge can drag and drop.""We have seen more efficient processing and less number of errors due to quality control.""We have staff who have been moved out of the mundane tasks and are now doing value-added activities.""One of the features that we have used the most is an action in the Workbench called Object Cloning. We find that very reliable and very useful for implementing different business processes."

"Once I decide a process is suitable as a Kryon solution, the cycle of automation is quite quick. I learn about the manual process and I'm one of the two guys who program the Kryon environment. It's relatively simple. There are many details, but once you understand the concept it is quite easy.""The recording feature enables us to record what we're doing, like typing or clicking the mouse, and to identify objects on the screen. We basically teach the program how to type, instead of a person. That's the most powerful feature.""We use Kryon Studio to develop new wizards and we use the features to capture elements from the screen and automate processes... The screen capture allows us to interface with systems which don't have an API, or where the API is very expensive, and it allows us to do on-screen integration.""[One of the valuable features] is the triggers. It's relatively simple to activate it. You can activate it via Control-M or via email. It has a lot of built-in triggers which enable us to easily activate the jobs.""The number of commands it gives us to edit and modify is really good. It also captures screen activities and plays them back.""The most valuable features for our organization are the automatic processes which save main power in the back office.""All our users have no technical background. But Kryon is really simple and intuitive. Our business adapted very quickly and easily. This is the main thing and it's why we love the system so much. It's why we are always trying to put more processes into the system and make more use cases: because of the simplicity and the intuitive nature of the system.""We use PowerBuilder as our application building codex. Kryon adds flexibility when we have the functionality of SQL, where we can take sets of data out of the back-end and run complex computations or do a bunch of data validations inside the wizard. It can save us sometimes dozens of steps, then if we were to try and do those same reviews using the user interface completely. The balance that we get from using Kryon RPA, alongside being able to screen scrape and frequent screen, gives us an advantage that we haven't had previously with any of our other attempts at robotic process automation."

"The most valuable feature is that it is pretty low-code, so you don't need much coding expertise to use it.""Power Automate has allowed us to simplify the business process and improve operational efficiency.""This product is a really easy-to-use solution for quickly developing prototypes.""Power Automate is not complex and is very easy-to-use in deploying most development projects.""For people who already use Office 365, Power Automate is very easy to integrate and use.""Power Automate is intuitive and easy to use.""The most valuable feature is the ability and ease of linking multiple connectors within the same flow.""In just in one click, we can see any documentation, etc., that we need. It makes it very easy to navigate."

Cons
"We had several issues when trying to connect the different components, due to our firewalls. They were eventually solved by our internal IT and the AA technical team.""Regarding the UI, once you're in some of the screens there are fixed dialogues. They are a set size, so there's a lot of horizontal scrolls and vertical scrolls.""If I want to do something that is more purely business-related and is somewhat complex to write or is nuanced, I sometimes have trouble implementing that inside of the Automation Anywhere script. I feel limited at times with some of the looping and some of the branching and some of the ways to make procedure calls when I have a complex business issue.""The schedule queue needs improvement. When one task fails, everything else gets stuck, requiring manual intervention to clear the problematic schedule and trigger the other tasks.""There is room for improvement when this application is used in a Citrix-based environment.""We have a few issues which have persisted. These end up restarting the machine. We are hoping in version 11.3 of Automation Anywhere, our compatibility and infrastructure issues will be resolved.""If you work with image recognition and custom objects, there are stability issues.""The main things I've found that could be better are small things that can be annoying when you're using them a lot. I would recommend they add a feature where, if you mark the start of an "If" sentence it will highlight the end of the "If" sentence. That would make it easier to get a better overview."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons »

"It would be better to have [upgrades] done automatically, like an application on your smartphone. Or even if done manually, the upgrade should just be "next, next, next," and it's upgraded, rather than making it a project to upgrade.""I would like to see a better OCR solution. That's the main thing: identifying unstructured data, like all paper documents and data from pictures.""We have found some difficulties regarding the integration with legacy systems where the screen has elements in the Hebrew language. The connection to Hebrew, right-to-left systems, is more challenging.""We need stronger governance to know, when a transaction is done, whether it worked or failed; strong logging. That would be helpful.""There are limitations on integrations with other platforms like ServiceNow. There are some issues integrating. It's not a really an open system. The product, its design, etc., is really good, but they have to look at the openness, how to integrate with other products which are available in the market, as well as with our own solutions. You can do integration but it is not so easy.""From our experience, the product is not suitable for end users.""I would expect that in the first year there is no ROI. It has to be measured over three or five years.""We would like to see having a little more specific documentation, or some of the examples be easier to find. One of the big things that we get directed to now is the Kryon Community page, but a lot of that wasn't in existence or publicized when we started doing our training and education. Now, we're stumbling through using it. For the majority of the time, we have either had to try and interpret what the instructions meant or do a service desk ticket."

More Kryon RPA Cons »

"I would like to have a user account so that the staff can see all of their requests, including the status and other details for each one, on the dashboard.""There is an RPA feature gap between this solution and other more mature products.""If the product had onscreen help, it would be easier to learn and use.""The thing which needs the most improvement is really the documentation. It should have better details of the processes.""Compared to other RPA solutions, there is a little bit of a feature gap.""The licensing model is difficult to understand and is something that should be improved.""I would like to have chatbot assistance available, where you can open it and receive help on the spot.""All the services on the Microsoft platform are great. If we want to try something like with SharePoint or Azure or the 365 CRM, then we can't with the everyday community edition of the Microsoft Power Automate. It would be a good thing if there was some sort of trial period. Let's say you have 14 days. That way, can log into the loading screen with Power Automate, and get to utilize services like SharePoint, OneDrive, 365 CRM or etc. to see if they like them. It would be a good way for Microsoft to cross-sell or up-sell."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even.""Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running.""Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has.""They're very flexible around pricing and licensing.""They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing.""We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases.""If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000.""It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

"We have a yearly license. It's about $5,000 per year.""For an unattended robot it's $6000 a month.""In addition to the standard licensing costs, there are manpower costs.""We've more than broken even over on the license. Year to date, we are at $120,000 in savings.""Licensing costs are about $100,000 a year without any additional costs.""We have been able to alleviate two FTEs, which was a big savings for us. We were able to reuse those resources in other locations. It is over 5000 hours a year in total savings.""They license per robot and we have 25 robots. You get so many robot licenses and can allocate those licenses to either attended, unintended, or Process Discovery bots. If you have 25 licenses, for example, you could have 20 automation bots and five process discovery. This allocation is flexible. There are also maintenance costs.""We are probably saving $6000 to $8000 a month in labor costs. It's not a ton, but we're right around $60,000 to $80,000 a year with our current deployment."

"This solution is bundled with our Office 365, so there is no additional licensing fee.""You pay for use and if you want a premium connector or adapter, but a lot of things are available for free.""Power Automate is a much less expensive product than the competition.""There are many different ways to license it.""This solution can save money when used for simple tasks specifically using only Microsoft products.""There is zero licensing cost. It comes with our Microsoft Office subscription.""I don't deal with the financial side. I know that we pay for a per-user license. It is probably less than $20 a user, but I am not sure about the exact figures.""I am not aware of the recent pricing model, but during the time that I was using this solution is was reasonable."
