While VM-based deployments offer scalability, hardware appliances have limited scalability due to their fixed resources. Your choice should align with your organization's present and future needs, as well as the flexibility you require to adapt to changing circumstances. It is important to note that scalability can also be influenced by subscription licenses. The type of licenses you've acquired may dictate what your system can handle, including the kinds of emails it can process and the CPU utilization allowed.

The tool is scalable as it allowed us to add/remove users. We had about a few hundred people using the tool. 

When I started off with Fortinet FortiMail Cloud, I could say that it is a scalable tool that is good. Presently, Fortinet FortiMail Cloud is losing out in terms of the scalability options it offers, as it has become outdated.

This solution is definitely scalable. Really for scalability, it is wonderful.  

We have around 500 people using this solution within our company right now. But the actual volume or capacity or load on FortiMail depends on the flow through the email filter and the number of emails you receive per day. My flow is not less than 15 to 18 thousand emails per day. Of course, within that, there is a huge amount of spam and a huge number of files and everything is controlled and passed through FortiMail. We would not have a problem scaling our usage.  

It was enough for our necessity.
