The solution is mostly stable, but sometimes there are issues and needs a restart. I rate it eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable solution. Around 50 users are using it presently in our organization.

For all of our custom pages, websites, and web applications, we use this.

It's very handy to restart the back pages and restart the website engine.

It's very easy to publish.

The product has very good integration with firewalls.

It has multiple good, useful features.

The solution is easy to set up.

It would be useful if they could incorporate some default security controls. These are missing right now.

We've used the solution for 15 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We would prefer if the solution improved the level of stability on offer.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

So far, the solution has been quite scalable.

We are moving towards different apps and setups and by default, we'll need more IIS, so we are in the process of increasing usage. We'll need to increase the workload on our side.

Serves as a port for publishing URLs and helps scan and mitigate vulnerabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "It helps scan and mitigates our vulnerabilities using the best protocols to secure our environment."
  • "The customer service and support team can be improved."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for the solution is serving as a port for publishing URLs, especially for our share point team. Additionally, it helps scan and mitigates our vulnerabilities using the best protocols to secure our environment. In the world of cybersecurity, there are significant threats in the IT environment, so we have to mitigate all the HTTP URLs that you have in the environment HTTPS and to do so to secure these tunnels and to provide them with the certificate that you want. IIS also provides the option to secure or mitigate the vulnerabilities in your environment by using the safest protocol to avoid any vulnerabilities or scenarios. We deploy the solution on the premises.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is controlling the ports you can use and denying the port you won't use in case anything goes wrong. This is one of the most outstanding features, especially for security.

What needs improvement?

The customer service and support team can be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using the solution for almost 40 years and currently have the latest version implemented.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable and not exclusive to the system administrator. Some teams, such as the network, SharePoint, and dev ops teams, interfere with this solution. However, it is one of the major features of the IIS.

How are customer service and support?

There is a lack of support from the customer service and support team, and they are very slow. I rate them a five out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

From my experience, I rate the initial setup a seven out of ten, and the setup took approximately an hour.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented the solution in-house, and one person was required for deployment.

What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment, for all the teams, especially for the security and SharePoint team. Most of the work's done through the server, especially the SharePoint team, and they publish all the websites they are using internally for the company. It's related to the employee and released to the business as a newsletter for the company. So, it's very helpful.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

I've never contacted technical support. I can't speak to how helpful or responsive they would be.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not previously use a different solution. This is the first tool of its kind that I have used.

How was the initial setup?

It is straightforward to set up. We managed to deploy it in two to three weeks. We were able to migrate all the platforms over without issue. The architecture must be clear, and if that's the case, you don't have any issues.

What about the implementation team?

We managed the setup ourselves in-house. We did not need any outside assistance from integrators or consultants while handling the implementation process.

What was our ROI?

I have not witnessed any ROI while using the solution.

The solution is expensive. We pay for the solution yearly. I'm not sure if there are also extra costs on top of the main licensing cost.
