What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Microsoft PowerApps is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

I am satisfied with the technical support for Microsoft PowerApps.

How was the initial setup?

The installation was very easy because it's already in the cloud. It took about 20 minutes to install PowerApps.

What about the implementation team?

You can install Microsoft PowerApps by yourself.

User-friendly with good flows but the UI needs to be improved
Pros and Cons
  • "The flows are good because they can be used in a variety of situations."
  • "The portal and canvas apps need to be improved and brought up to speed."

What is our primary use case?

We have a partnership with Microsoft.

What is most valuable?

The flows are good and probably the best component of this product because they can be used in a variety of situations and we're using it all the time. We're also using a lot of portal and canvas too. This is a simple solution and user friendly.

What needs improvement?

The product has a few issues. The portal and canvas apps are the main things that need to be improved. Bringing the UI of a model-driven app to something closer to what Salesforce has will definitely be a game changer.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable if the load is not too high. If it is, then we have issues and need Microsoft to help us sort things out. In the low to medium load, it's very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Our implementation wasn't huge but the solution is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support was good. They provided us with first-rate architects and good support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was relatively straightforward.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend this solution because of the type of connectors that they have, the cost is reasonable, and it's easy to learn.

I rate this solution seven out of 10.

Great for making apps quickly, and quick to get started, but an immature product
Pros and Cons
  • "As a business person, I design a lot of screens. The solution really resonates with me. Their design is amazing."
  • "The solution needs a bit more refinement in general."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution to create apps for business users which navigates them from within our platforms.

What is most valuable?

There are lots of good videos on Youtube that are available to help users train themselves on the product and understand its intricacies. They have a workshop that allows you to learn the product in a day.

As a business person, I design a lot of screens. The solution really resonates with me. Their design is amazing.

You are able to create a screen app within a day once you get the hang of everything.

There are great templates on offer that make creating apps easy. They have galleries that help you pick predefined templates. You can also standardize these. It's low effort and low code. However, if you want to code more and have code validation or mobile, you can do that as well.

They have a web version of the solution, as well as a version for tablets.

What needs improvement?

The solution is pretty difficult to understand. You need to educate yourself on the product in order to be able to effectively use it.

The solution needs a bit more refinement in general.

It's still a new product. There's a lot of improvements that can be made from a useability perspective.

There needs to be better guides and documentation available for new users in order to help them properly understand the product and how to use it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I started using the solution after Power Automate, and therefore I started learning more about Power Apps probably last year in August. I would estimate I started on it in or around July and August of last year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is definitely stable. I haven't had any issues with it in that regard. It doesn't crash or freeze. There are no bugs or glitches. It's good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability-wise, I haven't put any complexity behind my apps yet. I haven't really experimented with scaling them up. From what I can see on the tutorial videos I've found, it seems to be possible. However, I have not directly attempted to scale anything so far. I couldn't speak from personal experience on the matter. I'd love for it to be possible.

I do plan to increase usage in the future. There are a few people who have seen my apps who have definitely reached out to me and said, "Oh, this is great." I help them understand how you can use Power Apps themselves as not many people knew about the product before they saw my work.

More and more people are using it within the organization. I'm not sure of the exact numbers, however. I still have not set up any session for Power Apps for training. I've done sessions for Power Automate, Excel, Word, and SharePoint. There just needs to be more training for awareness. This is a relatively new product. Maybe that's why it doesn't yet have the visibility.

How are customer service and technical support?

I don't really use technical support at all. All my questions when I reached out to technical support, were directing me to Power Apps In a Day - the training session. I did that and they'd answer all my questions. I did have a few questions based on a few functionalities, which I went on the Microsoft site to find answers to. I basically found two blogs. I understood that those functionalities are not yet there. I put down my feedback in terms of it should be there or not. Then that was it.

I don't really directly communicate with Microsoft technical support. You need to go out and find your own answers online.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not previously use a different solution.

How was the initial setup?

There isn't an implementation process for the product. It is on the cloud. Everything is pretty automatic. In that sense, it's rather straightforward. It's not overly complex or difficult. It's on the user accounts. I just go ahead and start creating my app from there.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'm not sure of the cost of the solution. That's not an aspect of the solution I handle.

What other advice do I have?

I am using the latest version of the solution. I'm unsure of the exact version number.

I'd recommend the solution to other organizations.

In general, I would rate the solution at a seven out of ten. We've mostly been satisfied with the product, however, it is still immature and needs time for tweaks and advancements.

Pretty good support and useful for real-time feedback
Pros and Cons
  • "We get feedback on a real-time basis, which is actually very useful for us."
  • "It is not enough user friendly. It also doesn't integrate very well with SQL Server."

What is our primary use case?

Our sales reps use it in the field on a daily basis. I get the data from there and then analyze it for my needs. We are also developing an application to start using Microsoft PowerApps. I would assume we have the latest version.

What is most valuable?

We get feedback on a real-time basis, which is actually very useful for us.

What needs improvement?

It is not enough user friendly. It also doesn't integrate very well with SQL Server.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for almost a year and a half now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would say, overall, it is not bad.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We haven't gone that far yet, so I'm not sure. We have almost 500 sales reps who use it.

How are customer service and technical support?

They are good. We get a pretty good response and support from them. I had to talk to them on a couple of occasions, and it was a good experience. I would rate them a nine out of ten.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We didn't have anything before.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward, but if you want to put more options, it gets complicated.

What other advice do I have?

It is definitely a useful product. I would absolutely recommend it.

I would rate Microsoft PowerApps an eight out of ten because there are still some issues that we are addressing, specifically related to its integration.

A good data development and connectivity tool, that would benefit from a longer period of availability for historical data
Pros and Cons
  • "We like that this solution allows us to fully define our test environments, and link them using different code. This means we can do different tests, but with one basic structure, and then export the data and use it in other platforms."
  • "We would like to see the period for viewing executions within this solution to be extended beyond its current limit of 28 days. We would prefer to be able to offer our customers an infinite amount of history to search."

What is our primary use case?

We use this solution to integrate our apps, and send processed data via the different connectors it provides.

How has it helped my organization?

This solution has allowed us to offer our customers to integrate with our platform platform to send documents, and for them to be processed with a digital key network solution, without having to use the platform directly.

What is most valuable?

We like that this solution allows us to fully define our test environments, and link them using different code. This means we can do different tests, but with one basic structure, and then export the data and use it in other platforms.

What needs improvement?

We would like to see the period for viewing executions within this solution to be extended beyond its current limit of 28 days.  We would prefer to be able to offer our customers an infinite amount of history to search.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for nearly a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have found this to be a generally stable solution, and have only experienced issues when there are a large amount of registers involved.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This is a very scalable solution.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not previously have a single solution, but instead we used a component that worked using Java.  We switched to this software because it was less complex to maintain.

How was the initial setup?

The initial set up of this solution is fairly straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented this solution using our in-house team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We would advise organizations that this solution has a high-price point. However, the cost is justified for how comprehensive the package is, and all components of the solution are available under the standard license plan; there are no hidden costs involved.

What other advice do I have?

We would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

Helpful for collecting business data but should include codes to speed up aggregates
Pros and Cons
  • "The speed of the solution is valuable."
  • "Can be improved to cater to complex developments."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for the solution is collecting business data and checking for initiative ideas to collect information.

What is most valuable?

The speed of the solution is valuable.

What needs improvement?

The solution can be improved by including codes that can speed up aggregates for our project development applications.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for about a year, and we are currently using the latest version. It is deployed on Azure Cloud.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We currently use a different solution as our ERP.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the solution a six out of ten. The solution is good but can be improved to cater to complex developments.

Easy to use with good speed and very good design capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "Overall, the tool is very democratic. It's easy for anyone to use. You don't have to be a professional or well-versed in technology."
  • "It's sometimes hard to import groups of options. At this point, I need to enter those manually and it slows the process down."

What is most valuable?

The solution is really strong. I'm not an engineer. I'm an economist. Even without being an engineer, I can handle working with the data warehouse. It offers good speed and excellent design.

If I want to process for payments, I can do it fast and easy in Power Apps. If I need to process information from Facebook, from Twitter, or other places, it's really wonderful.

Overall, the tool is very democratic. It's easy for anyone to use. You don't have to be a professional or well-versed in technology.

What needs improvement?

For me, it's easier if I have visual references in order to learn the system. However, I'm also Spanish, and the tool is in English. That's one level of difficulty. Another level is that there aren't too many Spanish use cases and examples. It would help if there was more documentation in my native language to help me learn the system more effectively. In English, I don't think this is necessarily a problem. There seems to be a lot of English documentation.

It would be helpful if there was more explanations built right into the solution's interface so that I can understand what action is supposed to get what result.

In terms of usability, when I tried to make an amortization table, I couldn't find an exponential option. I don't know if it's ideal for financial tools that deal with credit or loans. I'm still looking into this.

It's sometimes hard to import groups of options. At this point, I need to enter those manually and it slows the process down.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've only been using the solution for about four months at this point. It hasn't been too long. I've used Power VA, Power Pivot, and Power Query for a long time, however, in terms of Power Apps, it hasn't been nearly as long.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The tool is good for work. I haven't had issues with bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

For me, and the way I am using it, the tool is fine. I'm unsure if it would work on a very large scale for big, big companies.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was not complex. It's very easy as it's on the cloud. You don't need to be an expert in order to deploy it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'm using a trial version right now. I'm still learning the system, so I haven't moved into a paid version yet.

It's my understanding that the pricing isn't too bad. I've heard other people mention it's not as expensive as Azure in comparison with Linux. One or two licenses may not be too expensive, however, I don't know the exact pricing.

What other advice do I have?

I started working with the common data model and the entities and working with my data warehouse. Now I'm working on my data warehouse with common data series. I use Power Apps for my standard entities' values. I need to modify it now with the new processes that are in place. And in the beginning, I use Power Apps for the management of the entities for Power VA. Since I've started using Power Apps, as I can see it's powerful and makes it easy for many, many, many kinds of work processes.

I'm still trying the solution out, and I'm still learning a lot about it. I'm by no means an expert yet.

I'm pretty satisfied with the product. Overall, I would rate it eight out of ten. It's a good tool and it's nice that it's part of a suite in Microsoft.

Easily connects to data services and is good for presenting POCs to clients
Pros and Cons
  • "I can have a SharePoint list and connect with users through PowerApps to present the information."
  • "The editor in the Web browser could be improved because it can be difficult to implement the commands in the buttons."

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case of this solution is for developing Proof of concepts and for preparing some use cases to present or to showcase them to the customers. Nothing related to production. It's only for presentations and for showing the merchandise to the customers.

The deployment model we are using is cloud-based.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is easily connecting to data services.

I can have a SharePoint list and connect with users through PowerApps to present the information.

I am also able to connect with Microsoft Flow, which allows me to connect with different people to email and update items in Sharepoint.

What needs improvement?

The editor in the Web browser could be improved because it can be difficult to implement the commands in the buttons.

In the next release, I would like to see Microsoft PowerApps be more integrated with Microsoft Teams or SharePoint and with different applications.

When I configure PowerApps in Sharepoint it appears that it is not integrated with the page.

When it is configured it looks like it is a different application.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for six months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This solution is stable.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have not contacted technical support because I haven't needed to.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was easy and straightforward.

It took approximately two days, but it depends on what features have to be implemented.

I maintain this solution myself, and it only requires one person for maintenance.

What about the implementation team?

We did not use a vendor to implement this solution. I did everything myself.

What other advice do I have?

My advice would be to create a master screen for items like layouts and all of the typography that you may have in your application.

Create a master screen widget. The rest of the screen will have, for example, settings for the layout that will refer to these objects in the master screen settings. Mainly for editing.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
