SAS Visual Analytics Scalability

Renato Vazamin - PeerSpot reviewer
Associate Director at B3

We have not yet tested the scalability of this solution. But I believe that because it is an IAS implementation, we can improve through hardware.

In my opinion, it is not as scalable as other solutions we have in our company.

We began deploying or using the platform in two lines of business, but we have three more to bring to the platform.

It is highly scalable. It is a great tool for big organizations. By big organizations, I don't mean a multi-multi-billion international company. One of my favorite customers is a big, independent car dealer in Germany. The company is not huge, but they have an annual turnover of one and a half billion euros. A company of this size would have special requirements that you will never get in any precooked or out-of-the-box solution. Small and mid-sized companies would struggle with it because they prefer something predefined or precooked.

The solution can scale well. It's not an issue.

We have less than 20 people licensing on the solution due to the licensing implications. They're a mix of IT and business people.

The solution can scale. It's not a problem.

We have 50 people on it right now, approximately. I'm not sure if we have plans to increase usage.

Scalability isn't an issue. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so.

SAS Visual Analytics is scalable for users. However, the cost is a little high to justify it.

We have approximately 300 users using the solution. We have internal team members, sales members, and management using it.

It is easier to scale the product. We have small businesses as our customers for it.

There are scalability issues. It depends on the data volume and number of end-users. VA requires a lot of hardware resources to move volumes of data.

The scalability of the product is very good.

In our organization, we have at least ten to 20 consultants that have some knowledge of SAS. We have more than ten customers that use SAS.

SAS Visual Analytics is extremely scalable.

One of our clients is an Italian bank. One of their installations serves 12,000 people at the same time across Europe.

Tableau and QlikView, in my opinion, would have difficulty doing this, whereas SAS Visual Analytics can do it easily.

No, as I mentioned earlier the licensing policy for SAS VA is flexible according to data volumes and concurrency of development, and it isn’t user-based.
