Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable functionality of the solution for us is that when employees stop working for the municipality, they are automatically disabled in Active Directory. Omada controls that 100 percent. They are disabled for 30 days, and after that time Omada deletes the Active Directory account. The same type of thing happens when we employ a new person. Their information is automatically imported to Omada and they are equipped with the roles and rights so they can do their jobs.""Two valuable features of Omada Identity are the ability to discover accounts and link them to identities, and the automatic disabling of inactive accounts or identities.""For me, the best feature of Omada Identity is its web interface because it's really easy for users to understand.""Omada Identity Suite has a very powerful workflow engine. It is used for requesting access for approval to everything that's around Access Management and for re-certification purposes.""Omada's most valuable aspect is its usability.""The most valuable feature in Omada is the governance. We work with other products and other product vendors, but the sweet spot in the market for Omada is where things are heavy on governance.""We are able to onboard new user accounts much faster by automating the process and standardizing our operations globally. Previously, there were many individual processes and manual admin interactions. We also see a lot of cost savings and benefits because through automation and standardization.""The teams we work with at Omada provide great insights and support. Overall, it has been a pleasure working with them. That's the part we value the most."

More Omada Identity Pros →

"SAML 2.0.""OAuth 2 is now the de facto standard for API protection and scoped authorized delegation. IBM TAM now supports OAuth 2 and can act as fully compliant OAuth 2 authorization server.""The integration effort with the end application is quite straightforward and easy.""The Verify feature: A push method which customers are going for.""Single Sign-On functionality is valuable because the core purpose of the product is to allow universal (or bespoke) SSO for application suites."

More IBM Tivoli Access Manager [EOL] Pros →

"The most valuable feature of One Identity Manager is it simplifies user-account provisioning and administration. One Identity offers a comprehensive range of solutions that cater to almost every aspect of the identity and access management domain.""The short version is that we gained significant insight into the issues of access governance. This allowed us to turn an auditing nightmare into praise from our auditors.""One Identity Manager connects SAP accounts to employee identities under governance. The connector from One Identity for SAP is the most powerful one in the market. This connector can touch all the levels of the objects in SAP. It can not only be connected to SAP ERP but also to SAP HANA, GRC, etc. One of the strengths of One Identity Manager is the SAP connector. You can touch a lot of the SAP environment and also have deep granularity.""This solution is better on the IT personnel, because now they spend less (or almost no time) managing user rights.""The most valuable features are that it has a lot of capabilities, can integrate with a lot of systems, including automated onboarding like CyberArk, and allows you to integrate different entities.""The most valuable features of this solution are its handling and that it is easy to maintain and manage the data.""It is flexible with APIs and the customizing of a portal.""We have seen a slight reduction in help desk calls, as this solution is a self-service product."

Cons
"The web GUI can be improved.""The user interface could be improved. The interface between Omada and the user is mainly text-based.""If I had to name one thing, it would be the user interface (UI).""The solution should be made more agile for customers to own or configure.""We are still on Omada on-prem, but I understand that when Omada is in the cloud, you cannot send an attachment via email. We have some emails with attachments for new employees because we have to explain to them how to register and do their multi-factor authentication. All that information is in the attachment. People have to do that before they are in our system. We cannot give them a link to our Intranet and SharePoint because they do not yet have access. They have to register before that, so I need to send the attachments, but this functionality is not there in the cloud.""The account management integration isn't bad, but it isn't plug-and-play like Microsoft Azure. You need some deep development knowledge to set up the connectors.""The reporting on the warehouse data and the import process both have room for improvement.""It is not possible to customize reports on Omada Identity."

More Omada Identity Cons →

"An Amazon Machine Image (AMI) for the newer appliance versions for hosting the virtual appliances on AWS will help.""Looking at their roadmap, they have a broad grasp of the security features which the industry needs.""The profiling element is incredibly robust, but also equally as complex, it requires an off-site course to be able to understand the context or the plethora of options available.""Multi-factor authentication with social integration needs to improve.""The self-service portal needs improvement."

More IBM Tivoli Access Manager [EOL] Cons →

"The product must include SaaS in the future.""I would like it to have an easier integration with phones.""It is particularly slow if you are using it in a large organization.""The performance could be better. I also think One Identity could improve its documentation for developers. Many of One Identity's features aren't fully documented. We don't have enough information on how to use them.""In the update processes for hotfixes need improvement.""The support for DevOps could be improved with quick delivery cycles and multiple delivery streams.""Integration with various applications should be made smoother. It is very difficult right now for regular implementers. Access reviews are another thing that is not that good in the solution. It needs improvement.""Improvements in documentation would be beneficial."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "The IBM prices are, as ever, extortionate, even with a business partnership, and high levels of discounts."
  • More IBM Tivoli Access Manager [EOL] Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Start with an operations team that is motivated to learn a lot in a short period of time. The longer you wait, the more expensive it will be to get the right level of expertise in this area."
  • "There are old processes that are really great for some people and look like pieces of artwork. However, the maintenance of them is really expensive."
  • "The solution is flexible, in general. You can define the parts of the solution that you want to use, and it won't affect the price."
  • "We have the premium support and are very satisfied. They are always answer our questions very quickly. For the moment, we are very satisfied, but I think it's because we are paying for the premium support."
  • "It helps us save on licenses for applications because we are following the account lifecycle, as well as account reactivation."
  • "We are paying for premium support, which is expensive. However, we do receive very good, fast support."
  • "It needs flexibility in the licensing or packaging, because you buy the entire package at once, and sometimes the customers are a bit overwhelmed with whatever they get. I would like if they could cut the licensing or packaging into somewhat smaller things."
  • "It has helped to reduce customer costs."
