Pros
"We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points."

More Juniper Mist Premium Analytics Pros →

"The solution is scalable.""I like being able to push configurations to multiple devices. If you have the same configurations for all the branches, it's easier to use ManageEngine OpManager and push configurations at once rather than individually pushing them to each device.""We use the solution to monitor links. It also helps us to track servers and monitor logs.""The most valuable feature of ManageEngine OpManager is the management of the virtual machine and the host machine.""The most valuable feature is the monitoring alerts. The administrators are immediately notified and can do the required action immediately. This is the feature we value and use the most.""ManageEngine OpManager is user-friendly and easy to use. Additionally, useful for basic monitoring.""The solution's most valuable feature is its ability to reach most of our network devices and get the most from them.""The solution is easy to deploy. It's also easy to manage and monitor the environment. Instead of being reactive, it's proactive."

More ManageEngine OpManager Pros →

"Nagios allows us to configure any device so that we can send pager alerts when people don't have access to emails. It also allows us to schedule downtime and maintenance.""Though I downplayed the administrative NCC GUI, this is by far the strongest aspect of the Nagios XI product.""The most valuable features of Nagios XI are you can customize it based on your use case and requirements. It is flexible and easy to integrate with our systems. You can customize the solution by adding additional features using code.""I can monitor a software made in-house to software of bigger companies.""It's a monitoring agent. It's designed to do one thing. Its most valuable feature is its monitoring.""It's great for monitoring IT services infrastructure.""The dashboard allows you to see what's going on in the overall system.""I can monitor a phone on a desk to very big servers of any company."

Cons
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."

More Juniper Mist Premium Analytics Cons →

"The main area for improvement for ManageEngine OpManager is its performance.""We had some stability issues at the outset that have since been resolved.""The dashboard could include more features.""With regard to configurations, however, it would be nice to have more documentation on SNMP configurations. For example, if I want to add a new vendor, it would be great if ManageEngine provided the requirements for that vendor, such as the commands needed.""There are certain things that are not possible to do with Op Manager. It's a solution that still needs time to develop.""The licensing for this solution is not straightforward and should be improved.""What I'd like ManageEngine OpManager to improve on is artificial intelligence. In particular, the machine learning feature should be integrated with the sensor flow. Doing this will give leverage, especially when you look at other products such as the Cisco DNA Center. When a switch goes down, I should be able to build on the correlation of other physical devices it's connected to so that I can integrate that with my CA CMDB. The ManageEngine OpManager team needs to draw a long-term roadmap where that feature becomes an integral part of the solution because right now, machine learning in ManageEngine OpManager is a long process. The solution doesn't have MLS search and I want to see ML being developed and applied for CA CMDB to greatly reduce the burden of tying everything. For example, if I have a data center switch that goes down now, I should know what server it's connected to, and when that switch goes down at twenty-four ports, I would get twenty-four alerts for different devices plugged in. I should be able to make a correlation that the major problem lies in the switch and not with the twenty-four elements connected to that switch. That is where machine learning should come into play and the ManageEngine OpManager AI should indicate "This is where the root of your problem is." It could be difficult, but this is a feature that should be improved or added to the solution.""The two views into the system are very good but could be extended to further customization to fit the need of end users in a variety of roles."

More ManageEngine OpManager Cons →

"I would like a much easier GUI so that I can delete events and logs, which will free up a lot of space.""The reporting part should be made simpler. While we can obtain all the reports we need, we always have to create work-arounds to get them.""The product does not have SAP monitoring.""The product could be optimized to improve the administrative user experience via the Nagios Core Configuration (NCC) GUI module.""Technical support is an area that needs improvement. It is not available 24/7.""We often need to develop custom plugins to get Nagios to work the way we want it to work because the features we need are not always available in Nagios.""It can be quite difficult to know which drivers and agents to use when setting up.""The installation and monitoring need improvement."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
