The tech support is extremely helpful. The live mounting and compatibility of different operating systems is great. Rubrik can also serve as a secondary host for emergency recoveries. Features we have requested are typically added to the next product release. Product support team is excellent, with issues typically being resolved on the same day. A Google-like file search, system scaling, and a frequent development cycle are some positives that this solution offers. Rubrik has led to improvement by reducing the amount of failed backups, leading to a reduced workload in IT operations. It has a streamlined user interface, provides an improved tech support experience, and reduces time required to locate and restore data. | The predictive analytics are great and the reporting is awesome. It is fairly stable. If you are a large organization, this is a product for you. Unitrends has helped us cut down the time that it takes to restore a server to its original configuration. Iinstant recovery (allows a spin-up of your image as a VM on the appliance). VM backup is much faster and more reliable, as I can test my backups with Data Copy Access jobs. It is very easy to set up and get started. Almost too easy. We racked this device and had it up and running in less than 15 minutes. It is an easy system to use. The support, if needed, is always willing to help. |

Its cost is high. I would like to have a built-in index searching ability of files/system files within the Rubrik interface to determine if a file or item exists, rather than just recovering it, and then doing a search for the file afterwards. Global management of multiple systems is lacking, as is reporting across multiple installed units. Improving PowerShell integration would greatly simplify Rubrik management. A singular system is needed to manage all of the clusters. It is an expensive product. It does not offer image-level backups for Hyper-V 2012. Needs integration with video CD (coming in the next release) and a multi-tenant GUI. | If the interface could be less complex, it is would be great. There are some questions as to how safely they are storing backup data. The amount of updates which are being released. Updates should be limited to two or three a year, focusing more on quality instead of a rushed bug release. No appliance update notifications. It would be great to have the job throttle/limit the max number of backups on a single ESXi host. It could be a little more customizable. The ability to run just differentials without pulling the full on your archive. There are a few quirks where the GUI, agent, and back-end are not precisely meshed. |

It is a great value, but its cost is still a bit high. The product is not cheap, but for good reason. It simply works and is very fast. Rubrik is not cheap. Hopefully, you can archive your data on cheap storage to keep the investment minimal. The cost was less than our previous provider, and this is a much better product. Rubrik is an all inclusive price. No additional implementation costs or licencing. The setup cost is a bit high, but the solution is an all-in-one solution. It’s simple, straightforward, and we were able to see 50% hard savings. When we compared the overall costs, Rubrik was cheaper because the engineering and operational side required FAR LESS dedication. So, all in all, they actually were cheaper than the competition. | No comment. You should be aware how much the monthly costs are to use, what the initial costs for hardware are, and what the options to expand are, if needed. Pricing model constantly changes. We found that the cost of Unitrends was about the same as the Dell DR6300. We liked the fact that the Unitrends appliance was all-in-one. The cost of Unitrends definitely draws you in. The licensing is all included in the appliance, which is a great incentive. Talk with the sales guys. They can work with you on the best package. Initial pricing is competitive. Renewal pricing is steep, so make sure to project costs for the lifetime of the appliance(s). When you purchase initially, get into the program which gives replacement hardware for free when you renew your support agreement. |
