We use the solution for routing and cloud security. We have multiple offices nationwide, all connected through the MPRS network, which is terminated at our FortiGate firewall. We consolidate our networks, filter packets, and segment our network through this firewall. My company has around three lakh firewalls. 

We have FortiGate Cloud deployed on all three major cloud providers: AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. The configuration varies from case to case. Azure is different from Google Cloud, which is entirely different from AWS. We have the documentation needed to deploy it on AWS, GCP, or Azure. We also have all the documents to use it on KBR for Fortinet. I don't use the latest version because updates typically have bugs. If it's on version 7.4, I prefer to use 6.4 or something like that.

We primarily use it for management purposes, especially for overseeing over fifty off-site locations. Its main function involves managing analyzers and other aspects of our network infrastructure.

FortiGate Cloud is used for web application firewall, DDoS protection, intrusion prevention, and indicator of compromise in conjunction with the FortiAnalyzer. There are much more functions, including an IP firewall.

We use FortiGate Cloud to protect from ransomware, malware, and viruses. We also use it for identity management and controlling bandwidth allocation to solutions. 

SD-WAN tunneling is the primary function of Fortinet FortiGate Cloud. It is also used for filtering or browsing, as well as application filtering and blocking of all unwanted applications, viruses, and malware, which is the main goal.

We use this product for cyber security. It is our perimeter firewall.

Most of the use cases for the solution are as point products for remote sites coming back to a central hub where the gateways control the flow back into the outward sites, kind of a spoke and hub thing. There are multiple sites that are large enough to support small offshoots, and then it comes back. So you might think of it as four or five small data centers coming into two or three big data centers.

The FortiCloud is being used as a security fabric. It provides insights into the overall activity at the locations which we have deployed. We are in around 30 to 40 locations which we manage over a cloud. Managing is very simple via Fortinet, which really is a value-add to our technology - at least, the infrastructure portion, the management part. 

We are using Fortinet FortiGate Cloud mainly for a file server at the office, and we have some services that transfer some applications remotely. We are using the firewall to secure the connection to our offices, for the internet connection, and for the applications using the VPN connections.

The main purpose of this cloud solution is too greatly simplify IT life, as it does in every facet. It also make things easier to manage.
