Huawei Wireless Other Advice

Umer Farooq - PeerSpot reviewer
Assiatant Manager / pre-sales manager at PTCL

I'm based in Pakistan, and a pre-sales manager focused on ICT, particularly in wireless, wired, security surveillance, and information security products.

Huawei Wireless is one of the products I'm working with, and I'm using it too.

I'm selling Wi-Fi 6 products. Huawei Wireless is a hot product in the industry nowadays.

My company is a Huawei Wireless gold partner.

I always work with the latest product version, which will eventually become Wi-Fi 7.

I'm recommending Huawei Wireless to others looking into implementing it because it's technically one hundred percent compliant in terms of customer requirements. It offers all features at a reasonable cost versus other OEMs. I strongly recommend Huawei Wireless because it's cost-effective and one hundred percent compliant technically over other products.

Huawei Wireless is mainly deployed on-premises, though I have some projects where it's deployed on the cloud.

My advice to others looking into implementing Huawei Wireless is that as a product, it's good. You can easily search for documentation on the Huawei website. You must learn Huawei Wireless first, and then it becomes easy, but it needs to improve its after-sales support.

My rating for the product, overall, is nine out of ten.

Huawei adapters have facilitated seamless integration with mobile devices, extending the LAN's reach. Additionally, including CampusInsight, a component offering analytics and visibility into wireless connectivity, has proven invaluable. This feature enables us to monitor network health and troubleshoot user-related issues efficiently.

The reliability has had a positive impact on our operations.

I advise others to go for Cisco if cost is not a factor. Otherwise, they can explore other options based on the availability of that OEM within the country. We have Huawei present in our country and provide all the necessary support, so we went forward with them.

I rate it a nine out of ten.

Apart from price-related issues, the product is excellent.

Huawei Wireless is user-friendly and easy to deploy, and the support and after-sale support matter. So we are very comfortable with the support.

Huawei has its own research and development team across the globe with a good technical network, cloud, and storage, making its management excellent. Huawei offers a big portfolio.

I rate the overall tool a ten out of ten.

I would recommend this solution because it has quite a good price, and it provides value for money. Huawei access controller can be located on a WiFi switch. Therefore, you do not need to buy an extra server for putting the access controller. It can go on a switch.

I have invested in Huawei WiFi systems and their support. I won't buy WiFi systems for the next two years of using this. The software updates are very important for solid WiFi connectivity.

I would rate Huawei Wireless an eight out of ten.

Product Manager at a computer software company with 1,001-5,000 employees

I'm working for a distributor for Huawei in Bulgaria. I'm a product manager for Huawei network equipment in Bulgaria.

As a distributor, my company has some demo equipment at the office and different versions of Huawei equipment, such as switches, routers, and access point controllers. For example, for Huawei AirEngine, my company has versions 5760, 5761, 5762, etc.

At the moment, Huawei Wireless is deployed on-premises, but the team is working on moving to a cloud-based solution. Most brands or vendors nowadays focus on cloud solutions, so that's what my company is trying to activate. My company will present an iMaster NCE Campus demo to a partner, so the partner can start using that solution.

It's not just SD-WAN that the company is trying to move to because SD-WAN is part of a complete cloud solution, cloud management solution, and network management system, which can be used only for monitoring or remotely managing devices.

The number of users of Huawei Wireless within the company isn't significant because it's just demo equipment, and it's not the main wireless equipment used in the office.

The number of people required for the deployment and maintenance of Huawei Wireless depends on the size of the project, the circumstance, and the requirements. For example, there's a project with one hundred and sixty access points with four service engineers, so deploying Huawei Wireless doesn't require many people.

I suggest anyone looking into implementing Huawei Wireless to ensure correct WiFi planning. As long as you receive the exact WiFi access point model and the exact location, everything will be fine. The deployment of Huawei Wireless would also depend on your partner. Support depends on customer requirements. You can order support contracts if you want everything to be smooth and up-to-date in the future. You can order support contracts upfront, before, or even after deployment.

As Huawei Wireless is a very good solution, I'd rate it as eight out of ten. I can't give it a ten because I don't have a vast experience with it, and there's no perfect solution.

My company is a Huawei partner.

I would tell those planning to use the solution to go for a PoC and to see whether it's for their requirement or not because Huawei, in large environments with large numbers of users, may have some issues, but in smaller environments, it will work fine. So if you are able to do a PoC, I would recommend going with it or trying it. Though I'm not a technical guy, I'm hearing from the technical team that there are certain features that you have to configure well regarding speed, rate limit, and all the stuff. So you have to take care of it. Also, you need to take care regarding the country and its regulations along with the dBi for the antenna and increase the values to satisfy customers.

Huawei Wireless has some issues compared to the other vendors in terms of stability and customer experience. Also, the number of tickets in Huawei is more than many other vendors like Juniper or Cisco.

I rate the overall solution a seven out of ten.

Huawei is good. They have been in the market for long. It's user-friendly compared to Cisco. We can configure devices more friendly.

Huawei Wireless provides access management control, eliminating the need for additional license agreements to access devices. It includes an inbuilt radio server, which can enhance its functionality.

I work for a company that produces devices, and you would need to use Huawei products, especially in Nigeria, due to factors such as performance, efficiency, support, and cost.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

I have personally used the Huawei Wireless Solution and deployed it in my customer environment. It has all the features needed and I would rate it an eight out of ten.

I'm currently working as a lead technical consultant, meeting with clients to understand their issues and then providing solutions such as Wi-Fi, wireless, network, and security solutions. Recently, I was able to give a comprehensive overview of a wireless solution, including details and integration with multiple products such as Cisco IOS.

We currently have three clients using the solution and have proposed the solution to several new clients.

I highly recommend Huawei products. As a distributor of Huawei in Pakistan, I can provide insight into why their products are beneficial for customers.

My advice to others is if you are going to choose Huawei Wireless, you need to check the quality of the solution. There are some issues with the strength of signals, it can get weak without any reason. If we compare this with the Cisco solutions, they do not have this issue.

I rate Huawei Wireless an eight out of ten.
