I have been involved in evaluating other BI solutions for clients, such as Birst, Tableau, and Cognos.

Oracle Analytics Cloud's on-premises version is not as good as other tools like Power BI and Qlik Sense. At the same time, it has more capabilities than both vendors regarding data augmentation and semantic modeling features.

We evaluated and considered using Cognos, Tableau, and Qlik. However, we needed a self-service BI and data exploration platform. Security was also the first consideration.

We considered using Tableau or Cognos but they didn't have all the functionalities of Oracle Analytics and the cost to add 10,000 users was too expensive.

When I was onboarded for the project, I was told to use Oracle Analytics Cloud. The assessment of other options is being done right now.

I didn't deeply analyze and compare it with others.

I've given some thought to Power BI because it's so widely used, but my area of expertise is really around or has always been around Oracle. So, it was more of a natural choice for me.
