We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The tool defines the processes. It's the documentation of everything.""Aris BPA has a lot of tools that are more professional than Bizagi.""In general, the users really like it and they can get started using it very easily.""The initial setup and installation are very straightforward.""The matrix model makes building relations easier.""The most valuable feature in the latest versions is the connect portal, where you can do very simple modeling using the web-based portal.""Fully-reportable database over Visio.""You can relate different aspects of an organization to each other, and you can clearly define the rates seen in the application."

"The capacity for distributing the jobs in a workflow is an important feature.""The scheduling and the calendar are very useful.""For specific situations this can be a good solution and a simplified interface to work with.""The product's initial setup phase is straightforward.""It is the best product because of its stability. ActiveMatrix 5.x is highly stable in production, and the downtime is very low. I have worked on a lot of service projects, and the engine is very stable, robust, and scalable. The development and change requests can be pushed quickly, and the mapper activity and SSLT kind of features are also good. It is easy to do changes, testing, and deployment. Its deployment is very easy, and we can automate a lot of scripts for our on-premises solution. I work for an investment bank, and we have automated a lot of processes for our customers. Previously, we used to develop scripts and tools. With version 6.x, everything is moved to Maven and other things. Environment handling is done mostly through DevOps tools. As compared to Mulesoft, the deployment and configuration are very easy in TIBCO."

"Kofax TotalAgility is a great design tool for reading handwritten invoices.""Data extraction and auto-classification are great features.""Essentially, Kofax TotalAgility as a whole is quite nice. As of now, we've only been able to use and explore its document classification and extraction capabilities. We haven't explored and used the case management capability yet, but the scan and capture capabilities we've been using heavily and those are quite good. Our solutions are mainly around those areas of Kofax TotalAgility. We haven't explored the product a lot, but the capabilities we've explored are good.""Its integration capabilities are valuable. It has low code/no code features. You have to do minimal coding.""Kofax is very easy to use, UI-friendly and allows easy data extraction.""Now it has an OCR, optical character recognition, engine where it can extract data from the document.""It's not so complex to design what you need to.""Great with recognition providing a high level of confidence."

Cons
"User interface (UI).""The model graphics can be exported in PDF, but the model is too small to read.""One of the biggest challenges is to realistically enable the defined structures of the processes that you have in ARIS documented, and then actually implement them in the business.""Sometimes, ARIS BPA breaks down, and its stability can be improved.""The standard out-of-the-box solutions for modeling are not so good. You have to do some configuration to make it easier and more user-friendly.""ARIS needs to make a better user interface. The user interface sucks. The problem with ARIS is that they have two interfaces for the same product.""The user interface could be more intuitive and better designed.""I had this decentralization mission where I had some friendly fights with the consultants of Software AG. My opinion was the business department should be able to publish their processes and do all their evaluation stuff in ARCM themselves. It has to be a one stop shop. I want a one stop shop to go from ARIS BPM to ARIS ARCM, because having everything go through that would be an improvement due to the inputs that we made with Software AG. They will make it possible that the trigger sent from BPM to ARCM will start their object generation."

"ActiveMatrix is in the middle field. MuleDB is more on the engineering side with Java and other things. SnapLogic is there are on the higher side with very low coding. TIBCO stays in the middle like IBM or Oracle. TIBCO can move towards IBM's way of doing. IBM has a big market and many varieties of products and good integration, which TIBCO doesn't have. It can have better integration. TIBCO's transition to the cloud is a little slow. As compared to Dell, Boomi, and Mulesoft. TIBCO took the steps a little later. TIBCO's ID was far better and easier to work with previously. TIBCO's 5.x ID was very good, and the development environment and the transition were easy. Version 6.5 onwards, it is a stable product, but it would be good if they can do something similar to version 5.4 with version 6. They should concentrate on this API market. It will give them the strength and the ability to grab the market back.""Technical support needs to be streamlined.""The product is missing some means of addressing more complex BPM constructs and should interface with more platforms easily.""The scalability of the product is an area of concern where improvements are required.""The maintenance of the package could be improved."

"Room for improvement would be better OCR functionality in terms of Arabic OCR. There should be better accuracy.""There needs to be more accessible certification and better pricing.""Kofax TotalAgility could improve the OTR engine. The page OTR engine is not accurate in predicting the data properly. If you provide many features which are good for business process management without an accurate OTR engine people will not want it.""The pricing for Kofax TotalAgility could be more attractive, particularly the cloud version of the solution which was offered to my company. This is its area for improvement.""The one thing I would like to see more of right now: is a simplified form creation. That would be the most significant improvement I would like to see in their product.""Kofax TotalAgility is quite vast and complex as a product. We came from Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation, then we started learning Kofax TotalAgility, so there are a lot of things that were quite straightforward in the Kofax Capture and Kofax Transformation cross-motion modules, but to do those in Kofax TotalAgility was a bit more complex or quite long-winded and could be improved. In the next release of Kofax TotalAgility, it would be good to have a straightforward low-code or no-code process because there were instances we struggled with having to put logic into a script or a .NET script, then calling that script, instead of the process being low-code, no-code.""TotalAgility needs to improve communication with ECMs or other file storage systems because TotalAgility does not have file storage. A good improvement would be to create file storage or integrate with other file storage tools that are currently available.""Table line item extraction is not possible through Quick Capture."

  • "The licensing cost for Kofax TotalAgility is very expensive, though I'm unable to give you the range, the sales representatives of my company say that the product is quite expensive."
  • "It is slightly more expensive than other tools."
  • "Kofax TotalAgility is very expensive."
  • "It has a perpetual license. You pay once in a lifetime for the volume of scans you will do and the number of users you will have. You can have participants or regular users, and you can have developers and administrators. So, once you purchase it, it is for a lifetime, and then every year, you have to pay for the maintenance. There is an annual maintenance cost, which is about 18% of the licensing cost."
  • "The price of this solution is less than some of the competition."
