Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"You can upload your bin, upload your files quickly, and download your files quickly. It provides a lot of other alternatives.""The solution is used for data storage and any kind of visualization.""Box is extremely stable, they have not been hacked or lost any data in the past seventeen years. I am very impressed with it.""Office Integration. The full integration into the Microsoft Office products is just perfect.""The most valuable feature of Box is security.""I like the ease of use.""It is really easy to load files to and from this solution.""The ability to collaborate around data anywhere, anytime is the most powerful features of Box."

"The solution is easy to expand to accomodate multiple users.""It's painless.""This is a unified business package that helps people be productive in working environments.""Microsoft 365 Business is stable.""I never have had any problems with any kind of situation where I couldn't get my documents. It is very, very reliable and very consistent.""I think the flexibility of Teams very good.""The initial setup process is easy and fully web-based.""You can access files through any device at any corner of the world."

Cons
"I recommend doing the trial first, because it's not cheap ware. It's not overly expensive, but it's not cheap ware, and enterprise has a minimum number of users.""If you want to delete something in Box, you have to do it manually, one by one. That was my recent experience. They might have a bulk delete, but I could not find that option. If you want to delete something, you have to go to each and every file and delete it.""Better integration with other solutions is needed.""Improvements in speed - Box's high level of security impacts performance, especially when compared with other similar services.""I don't like the low level of role-based security it provides – it's very cumbersome, and the support is ordinary at times.""The solution's data security should be improved.""The room for improvement is in the area of integrations. They need to establish more integrations, especially with Office 365 and Outlook.""One thing that Box would benefit from is a records management component."

More Box Cons →

"The solution's ability to scale could be improved.""The pricing and licensing format could be improved.""I feel that the user interface can be better when it comes to file sharing.""The price could be better.""The solution could work to offer better security.""As an example, there isn't a clean transfer to a Google Doc outside of hosting it as a .docx file.""The Microsoft 365 Business suite could improve by adding additional template-type tools. For example, if you specifically are creating a fillable form, there are times where I did not find the right type of template that I was looking for.""Sometimes it is quite hard to get a grasp on what features are going to be available at what time. For instance, we had to wait for a very long time on the breakout rules in Teams. There is a roadmap and there are also some blog posts, but you never know when you're going to get it. So it would be preferable to get it more in advance."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing may seem steep at first, but delve into the features and you'll soon realize it is incredible value for what you get."
  • "It is expensive per head, as you need the enterprise license to get full security and tools. So negotiate a discount!"
  • "Better sign a full year's contract to get a discount."
  • "I'm in Higher Ed, so we purchase through Internet2-Net+. I absolutely recommend going that route for Higher Ed customers."
  • "A business account has a minimum of three users. If you are more than three people in-house, go for the Enterprise version. All the external users are free of charge."
  • "Our pricing and licensing is excellent. I'd tell all Higher Ed customers to talk with Internet2 for excellent pricing and support."
  • "I believe Box is cheaper than SharePoint."
  • "They are very price competitive when pushed. Initially, they come out with a standard list price, but they are willing to be very competitive. The Box price was pretty much equal to or lower than the Citrix price, and Box has more features."

  • "Depending on which plan you purchase, there are a plethora of applications available to you."
  • "Compared to buying a license, it is much cheaper and a good buy."
  • "We do monthly billing, however, I'm not sure what the exact costs are. We may pay around $1,000/month. We started using the Microsoft Teams and we've started doing the conference call feature, so that's another $4 an account and we have a few accounts using that right now."
  • "USD $1,250 annually for the standard package."
  • "Pricing can vary a lot due to fluctuations in exchange rates and that is not favorable for planning."
  • "Now you can select different licenses, for example, if somebody doesn't need all of the features, it would cost $8 USD per month and if they didn't need the email application then it would cost $6 USD per month."
  • "It works out to be $12.50 per user per month."
  • "Microsoft 365 Business will be good to have if you have a large organization where you have more than 3000 employees. Other cheaper solutions, like Gmail, are easily available in the market."
