"The most valuable feature of ManageEngine OpManager makes it easy to monitor all the network alerts on the application.""ManageEngine OpManager is user-friendly and easy to use. Additionally, useful for basic monitoring.""The features we found most valuable in ManageEngine OpManager are the probe server and reporting because they're pretty good features.""Monitoring is the most valuable feature of this solution.""Some of the useful features are NetFlow and analytics.""Some of the most valuable features are the accessibility of the solution and the fact that it is simpler than other products. For example, discovering devices in the network is very simple, making it user-friendly.""It helps us a lot for monitoring our servers in one console, instead of going to individual servers.""We have found the solution to be stable."

"The most valuable feature is application monitoring.""It is simple to implement and can provide fairly decent Windows-based monitoring, beyond simple SNMP. It is great for monitoring newbies and smaller shops.""Manage Groups: The capability to group appropriate devices gives better visibility of sites, categories, or critical regions. The same can be used to represent a dashboard for higher management.""There are many valuable features, including the network configuration manager, and the network performance manager.""The product integrates with Remedy.""Management Console - Managing service to each server enrolled in the Solarwinds is much easier. Using a web base console, you can control your service much convenient way. There is no need to login remotely. It save a lot of time and effort.""The initial setup was relatively easy, and we didn't have to install anything. All we had to do was put on the devices we wanted to monitor.""AppInsight for SQL: Enables us to see the relevant error log entries on the same page as performance parameters."

Cons
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."

More Juniper Mist Premium Analytics Cons →

"The dashboard has some limitations and should be more user-friendly.""This product is little bit slow sometimes. It may be that we need to change the configuration to improve performance.""We have been facing an issue since last year when a lot of our users started to work from home through their mobiles or computers. We are having trouble reaching these devices. We are now planning to publish our instance to the cloud so that we can reach these devices. Its performance should be improved in terms of the discovery of the devices. I would like to feel confident with the discovery that this solution does. For example, on my dashboard, I would like to be able to view a list of all devices seen on a specific server. At present, it is difficult to find such information. This would be an excellent feature to have.""We had some stability issues at the outset that have since been resolved.""The licensing model is confusing.""The dashboard could include more features.""ManageEngine OpManager can improve by having better updates for critical issues.""What I'd like ManageEngine OpManager to improve on is artificial intelligence. In particular, the machine learning feature should be integrated with the sensor flow. Doing this will give leverage, especially when you look at other products such as the Cisco DNA Center. When a switch goes down, I should be able to build on the correlation of other physical devices it's connected to so that I can integrate that with my CA CMDB. The ManageEngine OpManager team needs to draw a long-term roadmap where that feature becomes an integral part of the solution because right now, machine learning in ManageEngine OpManager is a long process. The solution doesn't have MLS search and I want to see ML being developed and applied for CA CMDB to greatly reduce the burden of tying everything. For example, if I have a data center switch that goes down now, I should know what server it's connected to, and when that switch goes down at twenty-four ports, I would get twenty-four alerts for different devices plugged in. I should be able to make a correlation that the major problem lies in the switch and not with the twenty-four elements connected to that switch. That is where machine learning should come into play and the ManageEngine OpManager AI should indicate "This is where the root of your problem is." It could be difficult, but this is a feature that should be improved or added to the solution."

More ManageEngine OpManager Cons →

"SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor could improve by having a cloud version. They have an observability platform but it still needs to be maintained by us.""SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor could improve the server monitoring and the web application monitoring features are not good. Microsoft SCOM has better server monitoring.""The product needs to reduce its price.""PerfStack can be made more effective. I am sure SolarWinds already has a plan for the same in coming versions.""The setup was complex. We had local support to assist us.""Downside of the tools is the web console are hung or crash. It need to improve the performance.""In terms of the dashboards on offer, they should work to improve them. The types of dashboards that you get in terms of the graphs on offer aren't ideal right now.""It needs time-based functions for monitoring. Some things need to be polled on a specific schedule or only during a specific window."

Pricing and Cost Advice
Information Not Available
  • "As far as cost, it was around six hundred thousand rands ($40,500) for the year, for the renewals. That's the total cost for a four thousand node system including support and maintenance."
  • "The licensing costs depend on the number of devices and accounts that are being monitored by the solution."
  • "The initial cost is low and the add-ons are reasonable."
  • "We had perpetual licenses. The cost was around 36,000 for OPManager, and then you'd have the yearly maintenance fee of 2,000 or 3,000."
  • "The licensing is on a yearly basis and the pricing is on the cheaper side."
  • "In terms of pricing, I would rate it a two out of five. It was expensive."
  • "ManageEngine OpManager has a three-tier licensing model."
  • "We have a standard license for ManageEngine OpManager. We purchased the license for one year and now we are upgrading it soon."
  • More ManageEngine OpManager Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "I have always said SolarWinds is very “proud” of their products, meaning they are expensive. I cannot afford to purchase all the licenses I need for all the SolarWinds products."
  • "When planning for the number of licenses to purchase, make sure you understand all of the elements within an application required to really understand performance well. In our case, we quickly came to the conclusion that an unlimited license for SAM was the way to go."
  • "Nagios XI, WhatsUpGold, Uptime Software, PRTG, Manage Engine, and SpiceWorks are the other tools that have lower pricing and licensing costs. However, they can't compete with SolarWinds when it comes to the features and functionality that SolarWinds can provide."
  • "I would advise potential buyers to wait until the end of the quarter, end of year, or other time to place orders. There are actually great deals to be had at those times if your budget cycle can match up."
  • "Pricing and licensing is fair for what you get. It does have a great bang-for-the-buck appeal."
  • "SAM is not per server so the pricing model can be deceiving. If you have an enterprise environment, you will quickly exceed your licensing quickly. You should know this before going in."
  • "Understanding the counts of objects to monitor will determine the licensing need. In terms of pricing, it’s not cheap but it’s not expensive as larger vendors whose products don’t have all the features or integrations."
  • "The product might cost you $30,000 USD to buy, but scaling this solution requires the purchase of additional polling engines at $20,000 USD each."
