"It is very easy to deploy and provision a machine."
"It's very easy to use."
"Unlike specialized tools, MDS is adaptable for various industries, making it a versatile choice for master data management."
"Technical support is very good."
"The remote control technology and screen-sharing absolutely help us resolve issues faster. If there is a remote user who has difficulties or does not understand an error or a problem or a crash, the support team can remote control the phone and see right away what is on the screen and act on the problem. We can debug, we can help, we can reboot the phone."
"The admin part, where I'm adding users, is not too bad. It's easy enough to use."
"The keywords menu is better than other MDM. They have an Out of Contact policy, which other MDMs don't have."
"The most valuable feature of SOTI MobiControl is the feature to control what software is on the equipment that is authorized."
"The best feature is its compatibility with various device versions, such as Windows, making it work seamlessly."
"It gives us the ability to manage our mobile fleets and push out updates quickly for all of our internal applications to keep the business running. We can push an app update out in minutes..."
"The SOTI MobiControl Assist tool is very good for remote controlling devices for troubleshooting. SOTI MobiControl is very helpful."
"It is a scalable solution."
"Microsoft MDS' language should be simple so everyone can use it easily."
"Stability can be fragile at times. If you are not attentive or make a mistake, it can cause problems."
"From my understanding, MS, as of 2021, will not maintain the product going forward."
"The Microsoft license cost could be lower."
"The only drawback is that it does not have the matching, merging, and all true MDM components. For these, you have to use another competent called Data Quality Services (DQS). You need to plug it in and use it along with MDS for true MDM. Both of these are integrated together, but you have to do them separately, whereas, in Profisee, there are a couple of screens where you can configure the matching process, create matching rules, and other things, and everything is in one product, which is not the case with MDS. In order to implement a true MDM, you need MDS, DQS, and SSIS. You have to use MDS to store your golden records, DQS to configure and standardize all your rules and matching percentages, and SSIS to load the data to DQS and MDS. At the same time, you also need Melissa Data to clean up your addresses to validate and standardize the addresses. That's the main component of true MDM. It would be good if they can create a true matching component inside MDS and merge MDS and DQS."
"Microsoft MDS isn't getting strong support because Microsoft is focusing more on cloud solutions."
"The stability could be improved."
"JMD repositories have records that come in thousands and millions, which takes a long time to process."
"SOTI MobiControl's user interface is very tough to handle and should be made more user-friendly."
"Improving the reporting section would be beneficial for enhancing the product's overall functionality."
"They could make it easier to configure. While setting it up from scratch, I find many networking issues, and I have to call our network people for them, but our network people don't understand. It's a nightmare to try to communicate to them that this port needs to be open, or this needs to be opened here or there. Networking people are very security conscious, and they're wary of doing anything. So, if you can't tell them exactly why they need to do something, they get really paranoid. SOTI could do a better job of making the configuration of their software easier to understand and more clear. The prerequisites should be clear. They should clearly specify what is required to get this software working. There should be a list of prerequisites that is easier to understand and trust."
"I wish that I had some more tutorials and educational resources on how to use the product."
"The remote screen of the solution gets stuck at times. So, that needs to be improved."
"There could be a feature for user ID management."
"The previous version, for example, had the networking signal and that feature was great. When we were troubleshooting, we could find the level of the network I/O. If the worker was working in a corner of the warehouse where the signal was not as strong as in another part of the warehouse, we could tell, "Just move a little and you will have coverage for your device." That was great. I don't know why they removed it from the newer version."
"You need to get used to the admin console. I think it could be improved. It's not the best I've seen. Certainly, the software has a lot of features so you necessarily have some complexity in the interface, but I've seen better. They could make it easier in certain aspects."
