Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Reviews

We are a software-based company. We develop custom applications for our customers. We are currently customers of Oracle but working on forming a partnership with Oracle Cloud Singapore. I'm a cloud engineer.

Oracle Cloud offers more of the basic functionality needs than other cloud providers offer.

It would be an improvement if Oracle were to offer more PaaS services like those available in Azure. The technical support could also be improved. 

Although the response time is generally quite good, there are still areas for improvement. 

I think the initial setup is relatively straightforward, in line with the other cloud solutions. 

I think Oracle's license costs are relatively lower than those of Azure or AWS. I think the cost is reasonable. 

I have had more experience with Azure Cloud so I prefer it because of the familiarity aspect.  Once I get used to Oracle, I might prefer that solution. 

I rate the solution seven out of 10. 

We primarily deliver the solution to a variety of companies, including those involved in automotive logistics.

The database is very good. It provides exact data.

Overall, there are some very good features on Oracle and it offers good customization capabilities.

We've experienced some technical issues that have delayed projects. Bugs seem to pop up in new releases.

Technical support does not offer the best service and should be improved.

We've been using the solution for two to three years.

The stability of the solution is okay, but on the technical side, there is some troubleshooting that is needed. There aren't many people that can help with this in our region. It might be a problem in the Middle East.

The solution is scalable.

We've been in contact with technical support. We're able to create and rank tickets and escalate them if necessary. We do have issues that pop up from time to time, and it seems to take a while to get results. I'd rate the service level we receive three out of ten.

The setup wasn't necessarily straightforward, and we're still working on deployment, which we plan to complete in the coming year. The finalization of the setup was delayed when we had a few issues.

The project was very large and we handled it with the help of the ATSI team.

We're constantly looking for other options. Our team keeps an eye out for other solutions that could, for example, save us money.

We run different applications on the Oracle Cloud platform and use the cloud deployment model.

We use the solution quite extensively on a daily basis.

Oracle is a good option for enterprise-level companies, but for small and medium-sized businesses, I'd recommend another option.

I'd rate the solution six out of ten.

Our clients are the maritime projects in Arab countries. They have Oracle 12C and 19C plus Data Guard deployed. We use Oracle for backup and some simple administration tasks, like creating more space to extend or resize the files.

The main purpose is to improve performance and provide high availability for the projects. We install the Oracle cluster between the client and the Data Guard— from the cluster to the nodes and the primary database to the standby database, which is also three nodes.

Oracle is valuable for improving performance and addressing issues between the nodes of clusters for private IPs. It provides a private connection between the client and the security cluster.

Sometimes when we install something, we need to partition and maybe rebuild the index. This can cause some issues for performance. In the future, I would like to see more stability and fewer bugs.

I've been using Oracle Cloud Platform since 2019.

Oracle Cloud Platform is stable.

Oracle Cloud platform is scalable. 

I rate Oracle support eight out of 10. 

Oracle Cloud Platform isn't complex to set up and administer. It takes about three or four days to install and configure empty clusters according to the user requirements.

All of our projects have licensing costs. It's about half a million. 

I rate Oracle Cloud Platform eight out of 10. 

The most valuable features are the manageability and the user interface.

The internal training program has to be exchanged with the customers more. This is something that has already been initiated. 

The user interface could be improved and be further simplified.

Technical support is good but they could be better.

In the next release, I would like to see more automation.

We have been using Oracle for two years.

We are working with the latest version.

It's a stable solution.

Oracle Cloud is a scalable solution.

From an application point of view, we have approximately 200 users who are using the services on the Oracle Cloud.

The technical support is good.

Previously, I used Oracle Database and switched to Oracle Cloud. It was a single point of ownership, so it was the right fit for us.

The initial setup was straightforward and it took approximately 15 to 20 minutes to deploy.

We have a team of two; one is a manager and one in IT to maintain this solution.

We did not use a vendor team or reseller. We completed the implementation on our own.

We pay the subscription cost.

At this time we are not using any products for hyper-converged infrastructure. We do have some computers for hyper-converged, however, those products are not moving very much.

We have moved our mission-critical workloads onto the cloud or we are using them on-premises for a traditional approach.

We have plans to use continue using this solution in the future.

I would this product to others who are interested in using it.

I would rate Oracle Cloud an eight out of ten.

I want to get OCA for Java, so I am using it for practice.

I like that the program is flexible. I can use it to write Java scripts. I also like the website because it constantly updates me on things, like artificial intelligence, and the latest technology. I read the articles, on the latest technology that programmers can use.

There's one app I have to install on my device, the Articulate Player app. It's only available on Apple and Android, but it's not available for Windows. I can't run the program on my desktop, to use it to learn Java. If I want to learn Java, I have to install the program, but I would like it if was available for desktops. I use my PC to learn most of the time.

The solution is very stable. If you are using it to build an application, it's stable.

Technical support is helpful. I don't really need them. It's simple to learn how to use it. 

It's very easy. I just accept to complete the install. Since it's an application, you just press install. The deployment didn't take long.

I implemented the solution myself.

I would give the solution a rating of 8 out of 10.

I would like it if maybe they could create a curriculum for Java, if they can integrate a curriculum for learning Java specifically, for the certification. The Oracle certification for Java. I'm using it to teach kids how to code.

Our primary use case of this solution is to do implementations on the cloud like Oracle Application, PeopleSoft, and E-Business Suite.

The deployment is the most valuable feature.

The stability of the solution is okay.

The users we have are from 100's to 1000's. It depends on the deployment. The implementation strategy depends on a case by case basis.

The setup was not very simple but not complex either.

I am not involved with the pricing model of the solution.

What I find the most valuable is the fact that there is zero down time for automatic offer. That is very good design for this environment. Overall, I would say that Oracle Cloud provides support with zero down time and the high probability is very good.

Oracle Cloud's price is very high. Overall, Oracle Cloud is doing everything I need it to. I have not had any issues with the application, deployment, and implementation. It is very suitable for us, especially considering our needs. Other than the price, I do not see where any further changes could be made.

The initial setup was easy. 

We are using Oracle Cloud for ERP lift and shift.

The most valuable feature is the monitoring.

The cloud tools that Oracle provides are useful.

The networking is in need of improvement.

The price of this solution can definitely be improved.

This service is very specific to Oracle and we cannot have other types of workloads on Oracle Cloud. We need to have a multi-cloud solution because for Oracle products we use Oracle Cloud, but for other products, we need to use other clouds. If the option to run other workloads were available, such as those by Microsoft, then this would be an added advantage to the Oracle footprint.

This solution is good, in terms of stability.

The scalability is good. We have approximately 200 users for our ERP and we do plan to increase usage in the future.

The technical support is ok, although it should be refined and more proactive.

The initial setup was a straightforward network peering between two tenancies.

The pricing is a little bit expensive compared to other products. There are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees.

My advice to anybody who is considering this solution is to consult with Oracle before implementing it. The architecture and the features need to be considered for suitability because it is not a fit for everyone. They have to go through a process of evaluating these things in advance.
