  1. Lower startup cost.

  2. Reduced TCO.

  3. Provides choices in delivery mode like long term Commit at discounted price or pay as you use basic.

  4. Faster time to value.

  5. Always on latest version of software.

  6. Try before buy and then scale as needed.


Points to keep tab on:



  • Initially, the revenue sinks as the cost rises, until it begins to even out and then revenue eventually exceeds. Refer to “Satya Swallows the Fish” blueprint.

  • Transitioning to a SaaS and Subscription business requires both a business and culture shift, with highly coupled customer engagement model.
