We use other solutions along with Trend Micro Deep Security. The choice of the solution depends on the server and users. Deep Security has many features and provides many layers of protection for the server.

For endpoints, for clients themselves, we use Endpoint Protection for Windows 8 and Windows 7. We still use Trend Micro Endpoint Protection. Also, for all our server VDIs, virtual servers, and physical servers, we use Trend Micro Security.

We are using both Trend Micro Deep Security and Trend Micro Apex One.
One is designed for server security, and the other is for endpoint devices. These are mostly Windows 10 and Windows 8. We use Apex One for our endpoints.

We have quite a bit of old servers that we are trying to migrate off of, and we had Symantec on them. Because of Symantec's logs, we were on the constant battle of always having to clean up the space, where when we put on Trend Micro on it, we didn't have to worry about that anymore. It has been easy to use. I can control it from the computer on my desk and not have to worry about it. I can push definitions, which has been easy to use as opposed to having to be on the actual user's computer.

Before choosing Trend Micro Deep Security as a solution, I was working with the solution from a company named Quick Heal. I switched to Trend Micro because of its good marketing techniques. We thought the word in the product, which is deep security meant it was providing its users with a very deep level of security, but we later came to know it is too shallow in reality.

We're familiar with older versions of McAfee. We are playing with Sophos for the UTM, the NG Firewall, and for the antivirus, Sophos Intercept X. I've also worked with Kaspersky.
Which is best depends on the client. While Kaspersky, for example, is good for smaller clients, Trend Micro is better for medium to larger ones. However, the solution isn't something you just set and forget. You have to take details, verify, validate, and be aware that a small change will not produce too many logs on the threat detection.

Before we started using Trend Micro were using McAfee. We switched because we got a ransomware attack back in 2016. It wasn't safe enough. It was one of the first attacks in India and our management said that McAfee was not ready for it. They had not upgraded their signature and it had multiple systems attacked. After that, management decided to switch to another product and that's when we started using Trend Micro. For the last four or five years we have not had any problems.

I also have experience with McAfee and one of the nice features it has is a central portal, where different locations are integrated and I can do everything from one place.
View full review »Yes, we used Symantec. We found it was getting a larger footprint in memory and was starting to cause performance issues. When it failed to stop viruses 3 times in 3 weeks, I had enough. On all counts, Trend Micro is a superior product with superior people, and I have never regretted the switch.

There is no competition for this product, as no other product provides HIPS, host-firewall, and anti-malware together.
