Dropbox is a file hosting service (cloud storage and file-syncing services). Its strong points are

I use Dropbox as a personal productivity tool, to always have critical information available using a browser or working on the local copy of the contents.
The versioning feature enabled me to recover documents that I had edited by chance, which was really a life-saver for me
2 Gb of free space and then a not so cheap subscription (also if the competitors have similar proposals for customers)
Some additional features related to photo and video are not interesting for me (probably it depends on the personal requirements)
Five years. However, 2017 is my first year as a Dropbox Plus user.
The installation is really easy. On the mobile devices you have to consider how much information you really need available offline (due to the more limited storage of the smartphone or tablet)
No, the software is fairly stable and reliable
Staying inside the 2Gb of the free subscription is not easy, when you get used to using DropBox
Never used it
Technical Support:Never used it
Onedrive (previously SkyDrive) was my favorite but some features that I am used to are not available
Installation is almost trivial
I am in a single user scenario
For many years it costed zero to me and granted a lot of features I needed.
Also if now I am a paying customer, I still feel the money is well spent.
A bigger discount for existing users would be appreciated
Onedrive, Gdrive and EverNote. I use all of them along with Dropbox, but the latter is my main Cloud storage option.
Dropbox is very easy to use in a team environment. It is also great when sharing data with external parties. The small business version gave us ample capacity.
With Dropbox, team members around the world have access to up-to-date content.
Before decommissioning Dropbox, we used it for two years.
We could not get Dropbox to run effectively on a NAS. While in theory the tools are available, the synchronization never worked.
I did not encounter any issues with stability.
I did not encounter any issues with scalability.
Customer service is good. We received responses to our questions.
While they didn't give us the answer we needed, it was quite good.
We actually switched away from Dropbox to OneDrive though Office365.
The initial setup was very straightforward.
There is no need to deploy a vendor for a basic setup. Perhaps for more complex requirements, like running on a NAS, we should have deployed a vendor. But given the many options in place, it was easier to switch.
We were unable to establish a tangible ROI.
Given the price and limitations, there are more competitive options available.
We did not evaluate other options. At the time, Dropbox was recommended by peers and it appeared to be the most compelling option.
Dropbox has some excellent features. Some of its contraints are not exclusive to Dropbox. Given the options available these days, Dropbox for business is overpriced.
I am using Dropbox to store photos and documents to share with other colleagues, clients, or my family.
The most valuable features I have found to be accessibility and ease of use.
The solution could improve by being more secure and having more storage.
I have been using Dropbox for approximately 10 years.
The solution is stable.
Dropbox is scalable.
There are a lot of people who are working in organizations or educational institutions that do not provide a lot of storage or a place to store files, this is a very useful option.
I rate Dropbox a six out of ten.
I use Dropbox for file storage and file-sharing with other people.
The solution is easy to use, everyone can use it.
There could be better integration with other solutions, such as Microsoft Office 365 for more collaboration. At the present time, it is more focused on its own internal systems.
I have been using the solution for approximately five years.
The solution is stable.
You can increase the size of Dropbox storage making it scalable.
I have previously used Microsoft personal storage OneDrive.
There is a subscription-based pricing model and I pay monthly.
I would recommend this solution to others.
I rate Dropbox an eight out of ten.
The use case is to keep all the files that your device can't handle. It can go up to two terabytes.
It offers convenience. It can connect with all devices that you own.
They can do the scanning of viruses, and they can also do malware detection when they do the synchronization.
I have been using this solution for a few years.
It is stable.
It is scalable. We have around 30 users.
I haven't contacted their technical support.
I didn't use any other solution previously.
Its initial setup is very straightforward.
We pay for the license yearly.
I would recommend this solution to others. I would rate Dropbox a nine out of 10.
I use it to sort out the space limitation for emails and real-time file sharing and editing.
It is the best solution in terms of space, file sharing, and live editing. I can share and edit files with multiple users.
They can provide more storage. Data is something that everybody is after. Any organization that has the requirement of data for any type of analysis will definitely need increased storage.
I have been using it since I started working.
Almost everyone in our organization is using this solution.
I have never contacted their technical support.
It is a cloud-based solution, but there is a desktop version as well that you can install on your local machine to increase the upload and download speed.
I would recommend this solution. Even if I don't recommend it, people know it very well. It is a famous brand and a famous product.
I would rate Dropbox a 10 out of 10.
I use Dropbox service for personal use to store files of all types. The organization where I work does not use this solution. I do not have my personal computer at the moment and that is why I am using Dropbox less frequently than before. When I will have my own personal computer again I think I will use it more often.
The most valuable feature of this solution is its convenience, I can retrieve files online from various places. It has backup options in case something was to go wrong with my computer I can restore my files.
I have been using this solution for many years.
The solution is stable and reliable.
From what I have been using the solution for I have not had any issues with the scalability.
The initial setup is straightforward.
I am on a monthly subscription for the solution and I am somewhat satisfied with the pricing. However, the price could a bit better.
I would recommend this solution to others.
I rate dropbox an eight out of ten.
I used Dropbox to store my files but they have deleted my account, and everything is no longer accessible.
They have deleted my files, and I have moved to another service provider. Their support department did not reply in a timely manner.
I can edit my files online, but the option is not that well-developed. However, I like the comments option.
I cannot reach anyone. They do not reply to me.
