Helps to save time by conducting meetings in a hybrid setup
Pros and Cons
  • "The tool simplifies our work by allowing us to have hybrid meetings instead of always meeting in person, which saves time in organizing these meetings. It also offers good video quality."
  • "The product needs to improve its integration. I'm not sure how difficult it is for the IT team to set up the integration. Once set up, it's easy but still not as straightforward as other platforms, like Microsoft Teams, where everything is within the same technical environment. To ensure further security, face authentication should also be added for all internal corporate users logged into the platform."

What is our primary use case?

We use the tool for internal and client meetings, webinars, and presentations.

What is most valuable?

The tool simplifies our work by allowing us to have hybrid meetings instead of always meeting in person, which saves time in organizing these meetings. It also offers good video quality.

Webex helps to prevent unwanted guests from popping up in your meeting.
The video quality is fine, and I wouldn't expect it to be better. I'm not sure about the computing resources required to optimize the video delivery, though.

On Webex, I find the option to capture the talking points of each participant valuable. Also, features like adding emojis during live presentations help in getting live feedback from participants.

The security features are quite robust because they allow you only to permit entry from participants authorized by the organizer.

What needs improvement?

The product needs to improve its integration.  I'm not sure how difficult it is for the IT team to set up the integration. Once set up, it's easy but still not as straightforward as other platforms, like Microsoft Teams, where everything is within the same technical environment. To ensure further security, face authentication should also be added for all internal corporate users logged into the platform.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for a few years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Webex is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The tool is scalable since it can support big audiences. My company has 30 users, but I've worked in previous corporations where we had tens of thousands of users.

How was the initial setup?

The tool's deployment is complex compared to other platforms. It needs to be more user-friendly in this area. It took about 10-15 minutes to complete.

What about the implementation team?

As a user, the corporation may need an integrator to configure the setup.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The tool's licensing is expensive, but it should be cheaper.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the overall solution a nine out of ten.

Webex is a good solution. It is a handy tool. Sharing is easy. Contacting multiple users at a time is easy. It is quite useful. It is a strong product. The video conferencing quality is better than that of other solutions. Webex has the upper hand on everything because it runs on Cisco.

Virtual meeting, video conferencing, and collaboration tool which offers easy setup and deployment, ease of use, and top-notch support
Pros and Cons
  • "Stable and scalable solution for video conferencing, virtual meetings, and collaboration, with top-notch technical support."
  • "There were some latency issues that could have been addressed if they had a data center in our location, e.g. the African region."

What is most valuable?

One of the best things about Webex which I liked was that it was simple and to the point. It separated its video conferencing capabilities from other extra capabilities, so you had two different products for the virtual meetings and for collaboration. This separation, these different products, made it easy to do what you wanted to do, and to get to the point of what you wanted to do.

What needs improvement?

The only reason why we could not stay with Webex was because they didn't have a data center in the African region. There were latency issues as well, so we couldn't continue using the tool. These are its areas for improvement. Other than these issues, there's no other area for improvement, because Webex is good the way it is.

Having a data center in the African region will help improve the latency issues, without incurring additional costs. There is a way that you can improve the latency issues, but you have to buy hardware from Cisco to put into your data center. Not a lot of companies would like to do that.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used Webex a year ago, for six months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We found the stability of this solution satisfying.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We were satisfied with the scalability of Webex.

How are customer service and support?

My rating for Cisco tech support is ten out of ten. Bruno, who handled our issues, was top-notch. Anything we needed, Bruno was on top of it. He was top-notch, so 100%, it's a ten out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup and deployment of Webex was easy and straightforward. It was on point, and there were no issues.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated Microsoft Teams.

What other advice do I have?

We used an open-source license for Webex.

We had 2,500 users of Webex. The meetings we had using it had a maximum of 2,500 users.

I'm rating Webex a ten out of ten, functionality-wise.

We implemented the solution in our organization through a reseller. The solution’s deployment took a few hours.

Support available, scales well, but chat functionality could improve
Pros and Cons
  • "The most noteworthy aspect of Webex is its quality, which I found satisfactory without any notable issues."
  • "In terms of features, it would be beneficial for Webex to focus on improving its chat functionality to make it more user-friendly. Additionally, enhancing communication operations to create a friendlier user experience would be advantageous. Other individuals who have tried using it faced challenges when attempting to share content with third parties during conversations or meetings."

What is our primary use case?

We use Webex for conferencing.

What is most valuable?

The most noteworthy aspect of Webex is its quality, which I found satisfactory without any notable issues.

What needs improvement?

In terms of features, it would be beneficial for Webex to focus on improving its chat functionality to make it more user-friendly. Additionally, enhancing communication operations to create a friendlier user experience would be advantageous. Other individuals who have tried using it faced challenges when attempting to share content with third parties during conversations or meetings.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Webex for approximately five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We encountered connectivity issues that could have stemmed from our network, the internet service provider (ISP), or other factors. It seemed to be an isolated incident, and I didn't have the opportunity to connect with tech support to diagnose the exact problem. It could have been related to an update or an issue with Webex itself. However, the problem was eventually resolved. While it was a significant concern for someone else, I had not personally received any complaints about it prior to that occurrence.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have three people in my group that have used Webex.

How are customer service and support?

Although there is internal technical support available, I didn't escalate the issue as it was resolved almost immediately. The presence of an active internal technical support team played a key role in swiftly fixing the problem.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have a preference for alternative tools. Regarding conferences, Webex is acceptable. I want to be honest with you about this. Connecting on Webex is actually easy. I would consider it to be on par with Zoom in terms of overall quality. However, I'm aware that some external users from the company's perspective have encountered certain issues that have hindered their conversations. Honestly, they weren't particularly enthusiastic about this solution. When I need to communicate with these external customers through Webex, they tend to choose another tool. This doesn't inspire much confidence in me, but I understand it's a personal matter. Perhaps the design could be improved, but that's also just my personal opinion. Apart from that, I believe Webex has all the necessary features. As a regular Zoom user, I simply prefer to stick with Zoom based on my own experiences and preferences. Additionally, I find it more useful to use Zoom for both personal and team purposes.

For my ideal solution, I would suggest taking the best features from various tools. For instance, I would incorporate Slack's messaging capabilities and Zoom's audio-video functionality. That combination would be perfect for me. If it were possible to also include elements from other platforms like Telegram and Webex, it would further enhance the overall solution.

What other advice do I have?

The solution requires maintenance.

I rate Webex a seven out of ten.

You get 1,000 participants per meeting by default and can join from 75 meeting units
Pros and Cons
  • "Webex's main feature is you get 1,000 participants per meeting by default and can join from 75 meeting units. You don't have to buy additional licenses."
  • "Zoom entered into the commercial space for end-users. It's more of a solution for single users for training classes or music centers and all that. Cisco is not in that space."

What is our primary use case?

We use Webex for virtual meetings.

What is most valuable?

Webex's main feature is you get 1,000 participants per meeting by default and can join from 75 meeting units. You don't have to buy additional licenses.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Webex for 14 years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Webex is very global. Cisco developed it, and the guy who founded Zoom was part of Webex before Cisco acquired it.

How are customer service and support?

Webex support is absolutely great.

How was the initial setup?

The requirements are the same as Zoom. It's all about the same. We take the customer's order and get a provisioning form. They just have to enter whatever URL they want. It's something like abcd.webex.com. They will be the admin, and we will take the email they give us. We will put that in, and once I have provisioned it, he gets a mail saying it is done and we call them to say it's ready.

He gets the email and clicks on that link to set up his password. Once he has set up his password, he can start administering and doing whatever he wants. For example, he can add the rest of the users.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Earlier, Webex was relatively expensive. However, now that there is more competition in the market, they have lowered the price and added more features to match Zoom.

Cisco comes up with new updates and features every month. More features, and now they have acquired some companies and put together some features that others don't have. They acquired Slido and integrated some of its features.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Webex 10 out of 10. Webex is good. I deployed it at a bank just five ago, and I'm expecting another order for Webex tomorrow. Webex has huge customers because they were already there in the enterprise space.

Zoom entered into the commercial space for end-users. It's more of a solution for single users for training classes or music centers and all that. Cisco is not in that space. Cisco is the enterprise space. We got an order for 50 licenses for city governments in India yesterday.
