When compared with Google or Office 365, Zimbra Collaboration's price is much cheaper.

On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the price a four.

Zimbra Collaboration offers a good price-to-feature ratio.

It's very expensive. Especially in our case, because I'm from Ethiopia, in Africa. When we compare the cost with Google Workspace, it's very expensive.

The migration from Zimbra Collaboration to another email solution is very simple and easy. Migration from Microsoft Exchange to another email solution is very difficult. Microsoft doesn't allow migration that easily. In fact, you have to pay for tools to do that. You have to buy some expensive tools to migrate.

When it comes to the licensing of Zimbra Collaboration, my license covers the servers and I find its terms to be much simpler than those of Microsoft Exchange. There are multiple products needed to get Microsoft Exchange to work, but there is also a standalone option available. The licensing of Zimbra Collaboration is better than that of Microsoft Exchange and it's more affordable.

If you choose the network edition, it is a little pricier. They have the open-source edition too which is only community supported.

The price of the solution is low. 

The total cost of our projects is low. For example, if we compare Zimbra Collaboration with Microsoft, the license of one account they are probably the same price. However, after the initial licensing, to add more options or use features in the Microsoft solution you must purchase them. In Zimbra, when we buy a license, there are only two levels of license. If we buy the premium license, we have almost all the features activated in our license.

We are using perpetual licenses. We have deployed it in our local data center, and we buy perpetual licenses on a per-user basis.

The free version is good enough for a small to medium size company.
