Easy to set up with excellent automations and sharable boards
Pros and Cons
  • "The automations are fantastic for rewarding progress."
  • "While great, the shareable boards lack some features that normal boards possess and that’s a big burden for us."

What is our primary use case?

We are a small startup media company with a lot going on. As we grew, disorganization became a serious problem. I turned to Monday, which has allowed us to work and flow as a growing team. It has also provided a concrete organizational basis for how we run our day-to-day.

How has it helped my organization?

It’s all about organization and communication. Monday has a million different features, so we can organize how we want, not how we’re told to. This has led to more creative problem solving when it comes to growth and has greatly improved client rapport and retention.

What is most valuable?

The automations are fantastic for rewarding progress. I also really enjoy the ability to tag coworkers in projects instead of emailing them or using Slack. Also, the shareable boards have been a game-changer with clients. The automations are fantastic for rewarding progress.

What needs improvement?

While great, the shareable boards lack some features that normal boards possess and that’s a big burden for us. It’s hard to not know what the client sees and that makes us look a little unorganized. They can also be a little buggy sometimes.

Helps with organization, offers great automation, and has helpful status update capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "I love that status updates move items from board to board."
  • "I'd like to see some kind of way to display our data to realtor partners without giving them access to our entire board."

What is our primary use case?

We manage our mortgage company through Monday. We are all remote, so visibility for all our loans that are in process is absolutely critical to keeping us on task. This sends out trigger emails when things are updated and keeps track of our payroll (for example, when things have and have not been paid out). We even track leads here and store key data so we have one place to go in order to see key data for our client.

How has it helped my organization?

Everything is organized in such a way so that we don't miss critical dates, know who is up next in closing, and see what has and has not been paid out.

What is most valuable?

The automation makes this board amazing. I love that status updates move items from board to board.

What needs improvement?

I'd like to see some kind of way to display our data to realtor partners without giving them access to our entire board. I need something that encapsulates just key points and nothing else. We find that realtors want communication and visibility - that is hard when all you have to use is email.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for one year.

Flexible views, great automation, and helps with communication
Pros and Cons
  • "The automation is great."
  • "Opening up a task and adding content/updates could be a little more organized visually."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for project management across the different functions of our marketing team. It's also used as a content and social planner.

How has it helped my organization?

The product helps keep responsibility and accountability clearly communicated, and helps stay on deadlines.

It's a great place to float new ideas. We find it great for archiving. If something comes up, we can reference archived tasks.

The automation is great.

It helps keep responsibility and accountability clearly communicated, and helps stay on deadlines.

What is most valuable?

The different views are huge for us and each member of our team has found a view that helps them quickly see and action the tasks ahead. Not everyone has the same preference for visuals to keep organized.

The integration with socials would be really powerful, however, we haven’t had a chance to get into that yet.

What needs improvement?

This may be out of scope for Monday, however, it would be cool to have an asset management side of things. It may already be in existence and I just don’t realize it.

Opening up a task and adding content/updates could be a little more organized visually.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've used the solution for about two years.

Visually intuitive with great live updates and excellent for resource scheduling
Pros and Cons
  • "We love the live updates in real-time for all parties."
  • "One item we feel we is missing is more board templates that would allow us to work within the agile methodology."

What is our primary use case?

We are a marketing agency and primarily use Monday.com for resource scheduling. We also use it for Project Management on bigger projects, timelines, finance progress, database, social media planning, and scheduling.

How has it helped my organization?

We've been able to centralize a lot of moving parts on a digital platform that was reached by everyone in real-time (even third-party resources that weren't in the office). Having the platform since 2018 gave us a couple of years before the pandemic to really get it working and definitely was helpful having when everyone was working remotely.

What is most valuable?

We love the live updates in real-time for all parties. It is visually intuitive which helps when working with clients that have less marketing and project management knowledge.

What needs improvement?

One item we feel we is missing is more board templates that would allow us to work within the agile methodology.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've used the solution since February 2018 (over four years ago).

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We didn't previously use a different solution.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did evaluate other options. I can't remember all of them, however, Asana was definitely one of them.

Great for archiving, helps with work more efficiency, and has useful status tagging capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "Marking the status of deliverables is the most useful aspect."
  • "The site could load a bit faster."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for work, looking at the list of available articles to write, making progress, and the status of deliverables/articles.

How has it helped my organization?

It has helped to archive the amount of work completed and have our editorial team work more efficiently.

What is most valuable?

Marking the status of deliverables is the most useful aspect.

What needs improvement?

The site could load a bit faster. I notice when I'm in locations with internet that isn't as speedy (like when I'm tethering with my phone) it can lag a bit.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for more than three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is very good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is very good.

Customizable, keeps projects on track, and helps keep users organized
Pros and Cons
  • "I like being able to customize your views."
  • "I'm unable to send messages or update any projects from my tablet or cell phone which makes it hard when you are in the field all day and can't be at your desk."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for managing lots of projects from multiple customers.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday is extremely useful in so many ways by helping keep projects on track and organized. My favorite part is you can see who is leading in production and sales numbers.

What is most valuable?

I like being able to customize your views and add what works best for you and you can always continue to learn and improve.

What needs improvement?

I'm unable to send messages or update any projects from my tablet or cell phone which makes it hard when you are in the field all day and can't be at your desk. It causes you to play catch-up and you cant keep your projects moving.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for over a year.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'd advise new users to take advantage of all the tools offered and learn more and faster ways to complete projects.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

User-friendly and easy to set up but has issues surrounding automation capabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "The initial setup is very easy."
  • "Some of the automation is having some technical difficulties."

What is our primary use case?

The solution is generally used for tasks such as if you need business functions such as marketing, CRM, et cetera, that can be tracked. We use it with the Jira technical team.

What is most valuable?

The solution is extremely user-friendly.

The initial setup is very easy.

You do not have to be overly technical in order to use or set up the solution.

The stability is very good.

What needs improvement?

Some of the automation is having some technical difficulties. They need to improve on that a bit.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of the solution is good. there are no bugs or glitches. It's reliable. It doesn't crash or freeze.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We aren't scaling it too much right now. We're still in the initial stages in terms of using it. We may try to scale in the future. I'm not sure, however, if that will happen.

We have about 50 to 100 users on the solution currently.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven't really dealt with technical support, however, it's my understanding that my colleagues have.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We also use Jira, which is better for more technical tasks. However, monday.com is very good for more of the business side of things.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. It's not overly complex or difficult. It's definitely not an overly technical process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

What other advice do I have?

I'd rate the solution at a six out of ten. For business processes, it's pretty good, however, for more technical tasks, it's not there yet.

I'd recommend the product to those looking to organize business processes, however, for more technical teams, I would advise that they go with Jira.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud
