Pros and Cons
  • "All of the Microsoft Exchange Online is very useful, such as the sections, the information protection, and the mail flows."
  • "The solution could improve with the integrations with some of the known applications is still not possible, there must be more connectors."

What is our primary use case?

We use Microsoft Exchange Online for emails and communication.

What is most valuable?

All of the Microsoft Exchange Online is very useful, such as the sections, the information protection, and the mail flows.

What needs improvement?

The solution could improve with the integrations with some of the known applications is still not possible, there must be more connectors.

There should be a feature when sending the emails it pops up and gives the confirmation of the real details when you are sending them out outside. There's an option for the alerts, but there's no double-check. We cannot double-check it or re-confirm it again. This option would be nice to have.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft Exchange Online for approximately two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have found Microsoft Exchange Online to be stable. I have not had any issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Microsoft Exchange Online is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

I have not needed the support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Gmail previously, but I like Microsoft products better. The options and features are already at the granular level.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is simple.

What about the implementation team?

I did the implementation of the solution myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am using Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange Online comes as the package. It cost approximately $13 per month.

What other advice do I have?

We have a lot of connectors with Office 365, and it's integrated with Microsoft technologies already. Additionally, there is integration with other third parties solutions. It's a good product.

I rate Microsoft Exchange Online a ten out of ten.

A stable solution for managing suites with a collaboration feature
Pros and Cons
  • "One of the important features is the collaboration tool used in Office 365. The security and DLP mechanisms are also quite good."
  • "The solution’s pricing could be better."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution to manage calendars and the entire online and on-premises suite. It is used in large corporate banks.

What is most valuable?

One of the important features is the collaboration tool used in Office 365. The security and DLP mechanisms are also quite good.

What needs improvement?

The solution’s pricing could be better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft Exchange Online as a reseller for three to four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The collaboration speed has some issues, but it is stable.

I rate the solution’s stability an eight-point five out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. When you reach certain volumes, the default limits on the packages essentially allow you to use the full spectrum anyway.

The solution’s packaging makes it difficult to scale to the enterprise level without significantly upgrading the packages and negotiating higher limits on certain things, such as API calls, to accelerate data transfer.

Around 3000 users are using this platform.

I rate the solution’s scalability a nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

Microsoft technical support is making some improvements, but it can still be time-consuming to get an answer to a basic question. I often find it easier to troubleshoot the problem myself.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward and takes around a week to complete.

Exchange Online deployments can be complex, especially when migrating existing data from on-premises to the cloud. Much planning and preparation is involved, and the process can be lengthy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product is expensive and has an annual subscription.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

It's difficult to compare Exchange Online to other solutions because of its unique feature set and collaboration capabilities. For example, Google SaaS is quite limited compared to Exchange Online.

What other advice do I have?

We require a full-time team of four or five engineers across different divisions to look after this solution.

I recommend this solution. You’ll find it difficult to find a better solution with all the same features at the same price point. Most other competing solutions don't have the same feature set for the price.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward.

Our organization pays for a corporate license to use the solution.

What other advice do I have?

I give the solution a ten out of ten.

Microsoft Exchange Online is simple and intuitive and I recommend the solution.

Great for collaboration and syncing calendars with good reliability
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution has been stable with good performance on offer."
  • "The solution could be a bit cheaper."

What is our primary use case?

We use Microsoft Exchange for sending emails and running calendars. With the calendars, we are able to check other people's calendars and be sure of their availability so that they can deploy solutions. That's what we normally use it for.

What is most valuable?

The solution is great for collaboration purposes.

The calendar capabilities are great.

The solution has been stable with good performance on offer.

The product can scale.

What needs improvement?

The solution could be a bit cheaper.

I'd like it to be more voice-activated and to have more AI so that it becomes easier to use. The world is moving toward more AI and machine learning, and likely they will adopt more of it in the future.

For how long have I used the solution?

We just migrated to the solution. We've used it maybe for about a year and a half so far.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I've not had any problem with it personally in terms of scaling. Due to the fact that it's connected, it pulls everything down. I'm able to do whatever is needed of me with it without stress.

Everybody is using it now in the company. If it was not scalable, I don't believe over 100,000 staff members could be using it without issues. It has to be scalable.

If we want to increase usage, we simply purchase more licenses.

How are customer service and support?

I've not had any contact with tech support. It's been very stable for me. There has been no need.

How was the initial setup?

I'm not part of the team that does the installation. That said, I know that Exchange should be good in terms of implementation. In the mailing lists that I used to install, the installation was straightforward. If you get your configurations right, it works. It works well without any trouble. This is Mircosoft. I'm sure it's fine to install.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

You do need to pay a licensing fee in order to access the solution. There are also enterprise agreements where companies would have to agree to a certain level of volume.

It could be less expensive. If it was, more companies would use it.

What other advice do I have?

I'm an end-user.

I would recommend the solution to others and rate it at a ten out of ten. It's in the Cloud; people don't need to have anything on-site or to worry themselves with problems any longer. Microsoft takes care of the back end while companies can focus on their day-to-day work and be more productive.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud
