It is a scalable product. We easily use it for 500 employees.
Pros and Cons
  • "It is a scalable product. We are using it for 500 users."
  • "I have found that Microsoft has vulnerabilities when it comes to Exchange Online. It has become the port of a lot of hacker attacks."

What is our primary use case?

I have found that Exchange Online is a wonderful product with good capabilities to manage the administration of my business.

What needs improvement?

I have found that Microsoft has vulnerabilities when it comes to Exchange Online. It has become the port of a lot of hacker attacks. We investigated the issue, and opened a ticket and the support told us to upgrade from E3 to E5. We upgraded, but we found ourselves still being attacked daily.

In addition, I cannot see good reporting tools. The vulnerability in security is in dire need of improvement. If anyone has a username or a password of an admin, you can access and then go live for everything. Microsoft suggests a two-factor authentication to resolve the issue. But, it is not always helpful.

For how long have I used the solution?

One to three years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable product. We are using it for 500 users at present. It is a sizeable network.

Pros and Cons
    • "I think there should be an incorporation of DLP on the business premium version of Exchange, as well."

What is our primary use case?

I primarily use this solution for an email bank for my organization.

How has it helped my organization?

From the security point of view, you can specify the IP range from the area your system should be connected. You can have the authentication based on the user certificates of your Active Directory. This improves the security, as well. There is a flawless integration. This is something I like about Exchange.

    What needs improvement?

I think there should be an incorporation of DLP on the business premium version of Exchange as well.

For how long have I used the solution?

    One to three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There have been some occasional deviations, but overall it is a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have 3,000 users. We have not encountered any issues with scalability of the product.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

A long time ago we used Zimbra and Postmaster. In comparison, in terms of manageability there was a concern with those solutions. Exchange excels in comparison.

    How was the initial setup?

The implementation only took us about an hour. You just connect easily, set up the domain, and you are good to go! We implemented it for 3,000 users.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price is a bit high. It is especially expensive in the Indian market.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

When we were looking at other solutions, we noticed that Exchange has a better collaborative approach with SharePoint, as well. That is important for us. In terms of the DLP, others are using endpoint DLP, but not the email DLP like Exchange is currently doing.

    Completely scalable and flexible
    Pros and Cons
    • "The solution offers complete scalability and flexibility."
    • "The solution should have more integration with other platforms."

What is our primary use case?

    I use the latest version.

The solution obviates the need for infrastructure. The model is pay-per-use. We are not talking about a single email but a complete collaboration suite. One gets very well integrated IT which is tightly stitched with collaborations. One can chat and field calls. As such, it is not only Exchange Online coming on, but Office 365 Suites, which Microsoft provides the users. This availability ranges from first-line workers to CEO level users, depending on one's requirements. All the industry needs are covered. One can take the model best suited to him and tailor his solution to his investment capacity needs.

This means that the solution offers complete scalability and flexibility. A business user who occupies a very small portion of the industry can pay less for a suite. The desktop and web versions are also options. The solution's handy. One can use it on his mobile, or any other devices, including multiple devices and single identity. So, the picture is comprised of many components.

    What needs improvement?

The solution should have more integration with other platforms. It is more integrated to the collaboration suite and other document management systems.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft Exchange Online for the last couple of years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    The solution boasts complete scalability.

    How was the initial setup?

As the solution is cloud-based, there is no installation required. There is no need to worry about its applications and no license. We are talking about per-user subscription-based use.

When it comes to the license, we are already talking about Microsoft. There is also provisioning. Otherwise, it's just plug and play. There are not many administrative tasks involved.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The model is one which is pay-per-use go. There is no license. We are talking about per-user subscription-based use.

When it comes to the license, we are already talking about Microsoft. There is also provisioning. Otherwise, it's just plug and play. There are not many administrative tasks involved.

A business user who occupies a very small portion of the industry can pay less for a suite. The desktop and web versions are also posibilities.

What other advice do I have?

The solution is an SaaS cloud-based solution.

There are a thousand-plus users making use of the solution in our organization.

I would recommend the solution to others, although this depends on the capacity one is interested in and whether he utilizes another solution. For someone who wants the complete bouquet of the solution, he can go with Office 365. There are others solutions which are geared to one who is only interested in email capabilities. There are many cloud-based solutions available, although these vary with the needs of the organization. Office 365 is geared towards someone who is looking for a complete collaboration suite. Someone who is not looking for this is advised to go with another solution.

I rate Microsoft Office Exchange as an eight to nine out of ten.

Good for assigning tasks to individuals, but it is too complex and needs to be streamlined

    • "This product is too complex to use."

What is our primary use case?

    What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is being able to assign an individual a task.

    What needs improvement?

This product is too complex to use.

It could be more streamlined because it offers an overabundance of features. It's simultaneously offering you to do 10 different things and it's confusing as to what we should do first.

I have been using Microsoft Exchange Online for about two years.
