Greta due date reminders and communication threads with helpful personal boards
Pros and Cons
  • "The way it allows our team to communicate with each other and keep each other up to date on many ongoing assignments at once through comments and the subitems feature is very helpful."
  • "A more personalized dashboard displaying each account's unfinished assignments would be helpful."

What is our primary use case?

Working remotely, our team uses Monday to keep track of assignment due dates as well as to share files with each other and notify others when files are available.

I also create personal boards to help me keep track of my own individual work. The many different ways to organize boards, either for the whole team or just for me, have been a very efficient way to keep track of work, as well as a centralized place for team communication.

The setup also provides an easy way to follow up with unfinished work.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday is like a to-do list combined with a bulletin board and an inbox.

The due date reminders are helpful, and being able to pass along assignments to each other via Monday is much simpler than continuous emails.

It's a clean way to keep track of conversation threads, as well as post general status updates on projects that involve other team members without disrupting their work by sending out another email.

I've definitely felt better organized and more prepared after moving from my own organizing system to Monday.

What is most valuable?

The way it allows our team to communicate with each other and keep each other up to date on many ongoing assignments at once through comments and the subitems feature is very helpful.

The somewhat recent addition of being able to post due dates in the comments so that the assignment can be passed through multiple people has also been helpful. I liked the subitems feature, but this has proved to be a cleaner way to assign work, and we are less likely to overlook an assignment when it is assigned directly to us, rather than when it is assigned via a collapsable subitem.

What needs improvement?

A more personalized dashboard displaying each account's unfinished assignments would be helpful (or if this feature is already available, making it easier to access; my homepage just displays the inbox right now).

One downside right now is that staying up to date on everything mostly requires going through each board regularly to check assignments. Having Monday display those assignments outright on the dashboard would help ensure that everyone is up to date on their work. If this feature is already available, I'm not sure how to access it.

Great formulas, good time tracking, and excellent customization
Pros and Cons
  • "I love how I can customize so many items on the boards to fit my exact needs."
  • "I have to use a ton of filters to get the exact data I want on an overview board."

What is our primary use case?

I am a project manager at a digital design agency and I use this to plan out all of our projects for the team.

Our agency has many project managers and many teams. Each project manager sets up boards/tasks for their own team members. I usually use my own templates while other project managers set up their own templates based on how they like to use Monday.com.

We are an online-only agency and fully remote. We all work in different time zones around the world and all have different schedules/working hours.

How has it helped my organization?

I love how I can customize so many items on the boards to fit my exact needs. I've been able to figure out how to save time and brainpower just by creating the right templates, automation, and formulas.

It also reduces the number of questions the team needs to ask me as so much is programmed into our Monday boards that everyone can see.

Something we've been working on is trying to make sure all of our team members are efficient with their hours. I was able to make an overview board to see everyone's hours/what they are doing at a given time. It's not perfect and has a lot of filters, however, it's a start.

What is most valuable?

The formulas are great for pulling data from many boards into one board. The time tracking has been helpful.

All of these items allow me to properly track time for my team and figure out how many hours we have used, how many we have left, and what all team members are doing at a given time through pulling data into one board.

The formulas are probably my favorite (although it took some learning to figure out how to use them) as it takes the work off of me to have to manually do the math and flag when we're going over hours. The team can just see it automatically.

What needs improvement?

I have to use a ton of filters to get the exact data I want on an overview board. My goal is to see everyone on my team's projects/capacity. My team is not the entire organization/not inclusive of everyone on a given board.

Also, I can't total up hours or anything on sub-items. It just counts them. I want to be able to add numbers as I can in normal items and see the total at the bottom of a group.

I also wish I could more easily see a list of tasks for a given team member for the week. I can see my own tasks, however, it's hard to filter through everyone to see my team's tasks. I wish I could just add everyone on my team to a team to only see what they are doing each week.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for 1.5 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's a stable solution due to the fact that it's so amenable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Monday can continue to grow seamlessly. I like the emails with the new features.

How are customer service and support?

We haven't had to deal with them at all.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not use a different solution.

How was the initial setup?

I was not a part of the setup process.

What about the implementation team?

We did the solution in-house, and I was not a part of that process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I didn't make these licensing decisions.

Great color coding, excellent use of subtask features, and integrates with Jira
Pros and Cons
  • "We use also integration with Jira, to see the updates so the CSM team can see the update from Jira."
  • "We'd like more automation."

What is our primary use case?

In my case, I have worked on two SaaS products as a PO with Monday.com. It helps me with the product roadmap of my product. It also offers a product roadmap of the whole company. I used it for managing projects and being able to see the specificities of a project.

We also used it to manage onboarding, as a personal to-do list.

We use also integration with Jira, to see the updates so the CSM team can see the update from Jira.

It was used by sales so we could see the sales information directly there.

How has it helped my organization?

It improved the communication between all the teams and the company, especially during remote work due to COVID. There is also remote work in this new company, where my work is 100% remote. It has helped to have data stored somewhere and be accessible by everyone at every moment.

For the onboarding it allowed the newcomers to have a good base to work on, and the colors and ergonomy of the tool are helping a lot. We have more motivation to complete the information on Monday.com.

What is most valuable?

The subtasks were super useful to have in order to define actions plans.

The link between the boards and do not need to copy-paste information and not need to update at different places is great.

The llama farm is super fun and helps the team to want to work on issues.

The colors and the style are amazing on Monday.com.

The dashboards are super useful for presentations to the other teams and to follow.

The Kanban view is great for organizing the common roadmap with other teams.

What needs improvement?

We'd like more automation. I would like more automation between Jira and Monday. To be able to have modifications in the status on Monday when the Jira tickets are updated for example.

I like the automatic change of status when all subtasks are done. The main task is also done so we don't need a last action from the user.

The translations sometimes are not OK when you change the name of the item. For example, in French, if the item is masculine or feminine, the sentence is not correct so it seems weird.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is very nice too.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution's scalability is very nice.

How are customer service and support?

The solution is very friendly and the answer quick. Maybe a chat function could make it a little bit more user-friendly.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used to use Trello. It was not complete enough and not very user-friendly.

How was the initial setup?

I learned everything by myself and it was easy to onboard.

What about the implementation team?

The setup was handled in-house.

What was our ROI?

Our ROI is high.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost is a bit expensive, however, it was worth it. The whole company can use it and for their own purposes. It's a good investment.

GreatSlack integrations, helpful tagging, and very customizable
Pros and Cons
  • "I don't go on Monday every day so being notified through email and Slack is helpful."
  • "Monday, the service, can be improved with even greater integration and configuration."

What is our primary use case?

My company is a publishing company. We use it for various different reasons. For example, Monday.com helps us to allow for greater connectivity throughout the company and to better manage various projects both internally and externally.

It allows team members to create different teams and is perfect for the case of project management.

Team members know who is working on what and when the assignment is due. It's also great in terms of tagging other team members for updates, comments, and links as well.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday has improved the company through its integration features. For example, being able to manage various teams and projects within the company. Team members know who is working on what and when the assignment is due.

It's also great in terms of tagging other team members for updates, comments, and links as well. In addition, Monday has Slack integration which helps to notify me or other team members when they are tagged or if there's an update which is a really great feature. I don't go on Monday every day so being notified through email and Slack is helpful.

What is most valuable?

The features I have found most valuable include the Slack integration which helps to notify myself or other team members when they are tagged or if there's an update which is a really great feature. I don't go on Monday every day so being notified through email and Slack is helpful.

Another feature is how customizable it is for our teams which allows for greater creativity. One of the things that is especially valuable is the status updates and the options available for those.

One last feature I like is the fact it's allowing the use of Google links/Google Drive.

What needs improvement?

Monday, the service, can be improved with even greater integration and configuration. It would be great to get company-specific features depending on the specialty of the company. For example "technology, small business, publisher" etc.

Another feature that would be beneficial is a Google Calendar integration. It would be great if due dates can be added to the calendars of specific team members. This would help to keep team members on top of projects, especially if the individual does not go on Monday every day.

For how long have I used the solution?

My company and I have been using this product since the beginning of 2021. It's been a great service so far and we are constantly figuring out new ways to use and improve how it integrates into our company.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's a very stable solution that has allowed for proper management of teams and projects.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

My company and I have an overall good impression of the scalability as it has been extremely helpful.

How are customer service and support?

We've never had any issues and customer service and support has been overall satisfactory.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We never switched, this is our first service.

How was the initial setup?

The setup was a bit complex as the company was still navigating exactly what we needed to utilize it for. We are constantly adding more ways to use Monday as the company and teams grow.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented it through an in-house advisor.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We normally advise the setup cost, pricing, and/or licensing will be very company-specific.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

No, we did not. This was our first option.

Reasonably priced with helpful integrations and great automation
Pros and Cons
  • "The customization ability of Monday is unmatched."
  • "We need the product to keep adding automation - specifically more subitem automation."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use Monday.com as a CRM for our digital marketing agency. Utilizing automation and integrations is key to our success. With Monday.com we take in orders and break them out into their individual campaigns and disperse creativity and instructions to our entire team within minutes.

We are also able to keep track of things like campaign timelines and any updates to campaigns and of course we are able to follow our budgets in order to make sure we are spending the correct amount of money for our clients.

How has it helped my organization?

The customization ability of Monday is unmatched. The service is so user-friendly to make what your company needs a reality is as easy as 1.2.3.

With the ability to stay organized with Monday.com we have been able to grow our company from four members to ten in the past year and are continually adding more and more clients by the day. With the time we save using Monday.com we are able to triple our efforts for our clients making it that much more likely for us to gain and keep business.

What is most valuable?

Integrations and automation make it easy for us to get notified and key on top of our heavy workflow. With integrations and automation, we can notify a whole team when campaigns need changes or sales reps when we need client information.

We are also able to make the workflow work for us so we can track all parts of the campaign's lifecycle from infancy to completion.

Monday's integrations and automation make it so the company can work efficiently and on time to maximize our returns and gain new customers.

What needs improvement?

We need the product to keep adding automation - specifically more subitem automation. Subitems have been becoming a valuable commodity for us in helping keep track of all the different parts of our digital campaigns. However, there are only a few options when it comes to subitem automation and integrations.

I would like to see more ability for subitems and main items to work together. It can be a little frustrating to have to work with the main items so much when the proper details are in the subitems.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for four years.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support has been super helpful.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We had no previous solution.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was complex, however, it was mostly due to learning the system and having exact needs that weren't (but now are) available.

What about the implementation team?

Our in-house team set it up.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The set-up is a little tedious, however, it is worth it. There's tons of material and helpful information out there so make sure to read through it all first. The pricing is very fair, especially for smaller companies like ours.

Simplifies communication, offer helpful project labels, and is easy to use
Pros and Cons
  • "The feature that I have found the most valuable is the project labels and organizational tools."
  • "The service could improve in its ability to automatically update."

What is our primary use case?

As an email designer, I use Monday to organize copy for emails between myself and our e-commerce manager. It really helps us keep timelines straight and organized with information that could be easily lost in someone's inbox.

Someone will upload a copy and any necessary imagery, and assign the task to the appropriate person and it helps keep every team member all on the same page.

The archive system is also very helpful for clearing out tasks once they're finished.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com is an easy and simple way to share ideas that can undoubtedly get lost in inboxes.

It has simplified communication on our team when it comes to relaying any and all information for our email marketing campaigns. Nothing is getting lost in anyone's inbox - the information is all right there to be referenced by anyone at any time.

All of our deadlines are being hit in a prompt manner with time to spare. This solution has made our organization very happy with managing timelines and workflow.

What is most valuable?

The feature that I have found the most valuable is the project labels and organizational tools. I find that this keeps everyone on the same page and limits questions about who's working on what and what stage that project is in. When those questions arise they can be answered by going to Monday.com and the team members who are working on the project can continue to work on it uninterrupted by simple questions. It helps keep the flow of the workday running without any hiccups.

What needs improvement?

The service could improve in its ability to automatically update. In my experience, if new projects are created or old projects have been updated the view of anyone who is already on Monday.com does not automatically update. This can lead to people working on old or outdated parts of projects. I have found it necessary to manually refresh the page periodically just to be sure everything I'm seeing is current and correct. This would be a nice update to include in the next release.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is mostly stable; we only had to deal with one or two outages.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is very scalable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Monday is the first thing we've used for this.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I did not deal with any pricing information.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I was not on the team that evaluated options.

Great for assigning tasks and staying organized with helpful projected timelines
Pros and Cons
  • "Being able to assign our individual tasks helps us a ton. I’ve worked with other companies that did not use Monday, and sometimes things would fall through the cracks as there were misunderstandings about who’s the responsibility it was to do something."
  • "It would be so cool to have live chat with team members when needed instead of having three different apps for work-related tasks."

What is our primary use case?

Our product development team uses this to manage projects as most of our employees are remote.

Each project gets its own pulse and we maintain updates about the status of projects on each pulse.

Each week, we have a meeting to review the status of projects and it’s so nice to have Monday to refer to for these meetings because everything is laid out - from designs to copy to production lead times and everything in between.

Monday is our home base for everything product-related, but we also use it for other teams as well.

How has it helped my organization?

Since there are a lot of different aspects of any given project, it helps our team stay on track with deadlines and be accountable. For example, our supervisors can log on and check-in at any given time to see where something is and determine if it is on schedule with the projected timeline. Even the projected timeline is something we plug right into Monday. Monday is really customizable to suit any team in our company, so we all use it to manage our tasks and keep all of our info organized.

What is most valuable?

Being able to assign our individual tasks helps us a ton. I’ve worked with other companies that did not use Monday, and sometimes things would fall through the cracks as there were misunderstandings about who’s the responsibility it was to do something.

I also really like establishing a focus of the day so I can refer back to it after sitting through meetings or having a break. It helps keep me organized and motivated throughout the day. Truthfully, I do love all of the features on Monday, I can’t just choose one.

What needs improvement?

It would be so cool to have live chat with team members when needed instead of having three different apps for work-related tasks.

Right now, we have our task management service, which is Monday. Then, we have a separate app that allows us to shoot out messages to each other or even different teams to check in throughout the workday. This app is nice because you can let someone know when you’re still logged in for the day, when you’ve logged off, when you’re on vacation, etc. it would be great to just combine Monday and this other service.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We’ve used this service for four or more years without stability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is extremely scalable.

How are customer service and support?

The customer service has always been helpful, although I haven’t had to use very often.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We’ve used Monday since I’ve been with the company.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

An in-house team handled the implementation.

What was our ROI?

I’m not sure what the ROI is.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don’t personally know the cost.

Easy to use with helpful columns and great search functionality
Pros and Cons
  • "We use the status column quite frequently and the search bar to easily find specific customers and orders."
  • "It would be good to include more automated features that are easy to set up between different boards."

What is our primary use case?

We use Monday.com to keep track of custom orders and backorders. Lots of our work needs to be tracked throughout each stage so we use the different columns to easily link to CRM pages and invoice pages of each order.

We also use this to keep track of deposit and balance payments as well as add tracking information and delivery statuses. This helps to show all orders and their statuses at a glance. Thanks to Monday, we avoid having orders forgotten or sent at the incorrect time.

How has it helped my organization?

We are able to efficiently keep track of orders throughout each stage from ordering to dispatch. Monday.com displays this in an easy-to-view way. We use the link option to easily link our orders to our customer CRM pages and invoices. We also use the status columns to keep track of payment and dispatch. We have transitioned from Excel to Monday.com and have seen a huge decrease in errors. With its easy-to-use features, we are much more efficient and effective in processing orders.

What is most valuable?

We use the status column quite frequently and the search bar to easily find specific customers and orders.

It also helps to be able to organize boards under different categories with folders to make them easy to locate.

We use the collapse group function to help us easily locate current orders and business matters without needing to lose information from past orders.

It’s been helpful to be able to allocate items to different staff members and notifications help to make sure that we do not forget any tasks.

What needs improvement?

It would be good to include more automated features that are easy to set up between different boards. For example, if the status in one board were to be changed to a certain status, this would trigger an action in a different board.

It would also help to be able to have a better day view of allocated tasks with due dates. Improved integration with different software would also be helpful to make processing orders much more efficient and reduce the risk of human error. These improvements would help to make the process much more streamlined.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We are impressed by the stability of Monday.com.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We’re very impressed by the custom abilities of Monday.com and how this can adapt to all our needs.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used Excel and chose to switch as it was too manual and open to human error.

How was the initial setup?

The setup process was very straightforward as the setup prompts were clear and easy to follow.

What about the implementation team?

We did the implementation in-house.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We are happy with the pricing.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Yes, we considered many options, however, they were all too complicated and not what we were looking for.
