Greta time tracking and automation with extremely responsive support
Pros and Cons
  • "We love how we can create boards specifically focused on one topic and have all tasks and projects pertaining to that in one place."
  • "Making adjustments to the My Work section that it includes deadlines for multiple columns on a board instead of just one would be very useful."

What is our primary use case?

As a national medical practice consulting firm, we use Monday.com to manage all of our team member's daily tasks and all our client projects. We also use Monday.com to manage all of our marketing, website, and speaking engagement projects, as well as our lead nurturing process.

We have created boards for each client and are sure to keep track of items that we've worked on for our clients by month and have created a time tracking column where we're able to log how much time was spent and bill our clients accordingly.

We're able to seamlessly stay on top of all deadlines for our marketing, website, and speaking engagement initiatives and Monday.com is a huge contributor to our success in staying on top of our lead management.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday.com is an amazing project management tool. I cannot say enough great things about it.

It has helped us to stay organized and on track with deadlines. We're also able to effectively manage our to-do lists and can easily track what deadlines are overdue, due today, due this week, and due next week in the "My Work" section.

We love how we can create boards specifically focused on one topic and have all tasks and projects pertaining to that in one place. We can communicate well as a team in the updates section, add notes, links, files, etc. The platform is always updating so there's now a collaborative doc we can use similar to Google Docs and also we love the automation.

What is most valuable?

The features of Monday.com that our consulting firm has found the most valuable include the time tracking column, the ability to create multiple boards for each specific client as well as projects/tasks pertaining to a specific area in our company (marketing), automatons that move items once they are complete as well as automation that notifies our team when a task is complete with specific details we've customized (who completed the task, for which client and how long it took them to complete).

The "My Work" section is my ultimate favorite part of the tool.

What needs improvement?

Making adjustments to the My Work section so that it includes deadlines for multiple columns on a board instead of just one column, would be very useful. Since the update/transition was done not too long ago from the previous " My Week" section, this has been a major flaw in the My Work section. Many of our boards have multiple deadline columns and it would be great to see all of the columns in the "My Work" section, not just one. We believe this may be an issue for multiple teams, not just ours.

Perfect for marketing tasks, collaboration, and centralization of documents
Pros and Cons
  • "It's colorful and easy to learn to use for all types of employee positions."
  • "The tablet display is confusing and difficult to use."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for marketing tasks. I manage our social media, photography, and videography teams. We plan out and collaborate on projects, and provide assets, branding guidelines, and resources for the team.

It's also useful for collaboration. We work in a team of about 25 people in automotive and we focus on PR and digital marketing. It's perfect for assigning tasks for events or for new releases. Our designer also communicates there with everyone.

We can use it to store resources. We connect everything through Monday. We use it to centralize as we keep some things in Dropbox and some things in Google Sheets. Now everything can be connected in the same place and we love it.

How has it helped my organization?

We used to use Wrike however, it didn't work on mobile and this does. I like having boards for certain items. I like that everyone can also have their own private boards if they prefer to keep their own notes

It doesn't take long to load.

It keeps my team accountable to keep track of their tasks.

It's colorful and easy to learn to use for all types of employee positions.

I also enjoy that it is so mainstream that anyone can use it. They use it in universities as well. Most of the designers we work with and web developers are very comfortable using it too.

What is most valuable?

We like the mobile app, as well as more integrations, calendar features, and private boards.

The mobile app is super helpful since our auto groups span four counties.

The calendar view makes everything easy to see.

It has integrations with using all the programs we use too.

Monday is super inexpensive compared to other stuff we use.

It is very easy to maneuver around. I love the search bar feature where I can just search the entire board with the information I need. This makes it very fast and easy.

In a dynamic workplace where we are working on several campaigns at a time, it's very important to us to have something that helps us move faster.

What needs improvement?

The tablet display is confusing and difficult to use. Most of my team works on tablets and they prefer the desktop view since it compresses some items.

For possible features maybe some more aggressive notifications - like "this comment was added and mentioned no one, would you like to see it?" Sometimes we forget to mention it and someone replied and we never saw it till we opened it up.

Notifications could be controlled by management instead of per person. I have a few employees that forget to mark off their tasks. However, if we could automate to alert them that would be better.

We need a broken link checker.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for a few years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is really great and reliable. It never crashed.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is really great.

How are customer service and support?

I dont know if I have ever had to use technical support due to the ease of use of the tool.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used to use Wrike. It was very expensive. In two years it broke on us - which was terrible. We couldn't download our information off of it either so we had to start all over when we left them.

How was the initial setup?

It was very easy to set up. I taught myself and then I taught my team.

What about the implementation team?

I did the setup myself.

What was our ROI?

The ROI has been pretty huge.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I had no problem with the pricing at all. it was less than 1/2 of what we were spending with Wrike with more functionality.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I went through reviews and more and more just kept talking about Monday.com Plus, the local university uses it and that made it easier to choose Monday.com.

What other advice do I have?

I love it! i have no issues.

Great features with good customization and helpful recent updates views
Pros and Cons
  • "I mostly like automation and recently added custom automation so we can brainstorm and find the best fit for our particular use-case."
  • "It would be good if we could have the option to choose custom colors for the status fields and groups so we can make some boards more branded."

What is our primary use case?

I work in an online gambling company. We deal on daily basis with internal and external B2B and B2C projects. Our use case includes all possible scenarios: project management (high level and detailed), Teams management, and collaboration via vacation boards and boards with the tasks. We use forms in Monday boards to log in requests from different departments in one place, we use Monday.com to manage GDPR requests and customer journeys, HR tasks and statistics, we even used board to manage company bookings. Long story short, Monday.com can suit every possible use case that you may have.

How has it helped my organization?

Since we started using Monday.com (until now), this system improved a lot of things in our company. We moved from old-fashioned Excel tables to the new, fresh, modern, engaging, and collaborative environment, which is full of creativity and provides us with better visibility and collaboration over all projects and tasks, vacations, and schedules that our teams use. The part that we like the most is that this system could be easily automated and integrated with other tools like Outlook/Zendesk or Teams.

What is most valuable?

I can say that all features are vital. I mostly like automation and recently added custom automation so we can brainstorm and find the best fit for our particular use-case.

I personally like the feature "recent updates". With this tool, I can easily open every board and see quickly what are the recent changes made. Additionally, I like the mirroring column feature it helps us divide projects between a high level and detail and update things on another board without switching tabs. Also, I like reminders and in-app notifications, they're very helpful and could be easily customized.

What needs improvement?

It would be good if we could have the option to choose custom colors for the status fields and groups so we can make some boards more branded.

Maybe automation could be reconsidered and updated a bit. We managed to find the automation that will fit our use case. Regarding automation, I would like to see an improved search area as it's not always user-friendly as well.

I've gotten feedback from the team that it will be very helpful if Monday.com would allow filtering by "creation date" and "last update" columns.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for three or more years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did use Asana. It wasn't that user-friendly or loved by the team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I cannot say what the pricing is.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I cannot say what we evaluated previously.

Great automation, good filters, and helpful sub-items
Pros and Cons
  • "Being able to add comments to line items makes it easier to provide updates on tasks and flag if there are delays or issues in completing something."
  • "Being able to create 'sub-teams' so people in these teams can be assigned to tasks in one go and receive updates on the progress of tasks would be useful."

What is our primary use case?

We use the product for managing tasks within our paid search team. We work across multiple clients and channels. Monday allows us to track the team's progress in one place.

One of the main tasks we use Monday for is preparing for new quarters and making sure everything is set up for campaigns to go live when planned.

It also helps us keep track of optimizations we make throughout the quarter. At the end of the quarter, we can then download the board with the complete list of tasks and build a timeline of when different actions were taken and how these impacted our campaigns' performance.

We also use it to track the training and onboarding of new team members as well as annual leave so that we can make sure we have enough team members during peak times when the workload is highest.

How has it helped my organization?

The product makes it much easier to manage and organize workload within the team since you can easily see what tasks are assigned to who, and how long these are expected to take. In turn, this means we are able to meet deadlines and keep to clients' expectations in terms of timelines for different deliverables.

It also allows members of the team to take ownership of their tasks, whilst keeping everyone in the loop of what is going on within each project/campaign.  It makes it very easy to collaborate and share ideas.

What is most valuable?

The automation feature makes it really easy to replicate recurring tasks that we carry out each quarter and makes boards much easier to maintain.

Filters for different team members make it easy to see what you have to do on a weekly or monthly basis and stay on top of tasks.

Being able to add comments to line items makes it easier to provide updates on tasks and flag if there are delays or issues in completing something.

The sub-items feature makes it easy to delegate sub-tasks to different members of the team for longer-term, bigger projects.

What needs improvement?

Being able to create 'sub-teams' so people in these teams can be assigned to tasks in one go and receive updates on the progress of tasks would be useful.

They need to improve the timeline view. This would be really useful to us if there was more detail in this view, particularly for longer-term planning, to figure out where we have extra capacity throughout a quarter to do additional optimizations for our campaigns. It would also be good if it was possible to get a view of this across boards to get an idea of the overall workload.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have not had any issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This solution works well for teams of three to ten however, not much higher than that.

How are customer service and support?

I have never needed to contact customer support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have previously used Trello, however, not in my current role at my current company.

How was the initial setup?

I was not involved in the initial setup.

What about the implementation team?

I was not involved in the initial setup.

What was our ROI?

I don't know what our ROI is.

Affordable and user-friendly with useful form functionality
Pros and Cons
  • "It keeps everyone on the same page and gives us a way to streamline our projects and client communication."
  • "It would be great to have more options on the form for external use, and an easier exporting option for client answers (rather than copying and pasting from each section)."

What is our primary use case?

We are a marketing and branding agency. We are in consistent communication with our clients and have multiple projects and clients to manage daily.

Monday helps keep us on track, prioritize, and communicate within our team as well as with our clients.

We manage creative projects of various sizes; with projects from social media graphics, all the way to the complete rebranding of an organization.

With Monday, it has helped us to stay organized as well as allow the clients to see where we are on a particular project.

How has it helped my organization?

Monday has been a huge help to the team through personal organization and measuring team success.

It keeps everyone on the same page and gives us a way to streamline our projects and client communication. Not only does it allow our team to keep track of where we are and due dates, but it also allows our clients to view our progress and how we are doing on the timeline.

It is a huge help to see our team and daily progress and have comments available directly on a project. We use it to keep track of projects, timelines, and personal tasks.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features have to be the ability to create separate boards, both for external and internal communication. Having the ability to add tasks and reminders to our individual board as well as the team board helps keep communication in one place.

A feature that we utilize daily is the form option (and the link) that we can send to clients. Instead of receiving requests via email, this helps us to keep all client requests prioritized and organized by date as well as the client. This not only helps our team by getting the information we need rather than going back and forth through email but helps the client have one place to put all their requests.

What needs improvement?

It would be great to have more options on the form for external use, and an easier exporting option for client answers (rather than copying and pasting from each section). For example, right now we are limited in the questions we can ask our clients when they fill out a form. They are also limited with the lines and spacing. So allowing us to customize this to our needs would be helpful. It would be helpful to also have a calendar section with different options to select per board, etc, where it could lay out what the calendar looks like for the month or week based on the due dates.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for over one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have had little to no issues. It's very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This platform could work for larger teams as well as smaller startups.

How are customer service and support?

The solution offers great support and service.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used Slack as well as Asana. Monday helps us to both communicate and keep track of tasks in a more streamlined way.

How was the initial setup?

It was a straightforward setup for the most marketed tools (organization, boards, teams). However, finding forms and plugins was more difficult.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the setup via an in-house team.

What was our ROI?

We've had an incredible return on investment. It is very affordable and user-friendly.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Monday is 100% worth it!

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Monday was always on our radar. We did look into Notion, however, Monday works best for us.

What other advice do I have?

We have had a great experience with Monday.

Great dashboards, helpful integrations, and helps streamline documentation
Pros and Cons
  • "Our team uses the platform for many different functions, and the ability to have multiple Kanban boards that are integrated into various other platforms our team uses has helped us become more efficient in our content creation strategies."
  • "It would be helpful to have a direct comparison table/spreadsheet for Monday.com versus Asana and the many other project management software platforms."

What is our primary use case?

Monday.com helps us streamline our documentation and asset creation process. We also have integrations in our social media environment to assist with the content scheduling and cross-functional communication between the marketing and sales departments.

Monday has helped us track our open projects, and complete projects more efficiently for our marketing and sales teams, it also provides visibility into the work we are doing and the cycle time from when a project is opened to when it is marked as completed.

We also use Monday in our weekly team meetings to discuss our upcoming focus areas for the week and prioritize the work we will be doing.

How has it helped my organization?

Our sales team felt 'out of the loop' when it came to upcoming social media posts and newly published sales collateral. Thanks to Monday.com's many integrations, we were able to establish a new channel within Microsoft Teams and Slack where the sales team can go to preview upcoming sales and marketing content, thus streamlining our communication process between the marketing, communications, and sales departments.

It also provides visibility for our leadership team as to how much time we spend responding to cross-functional requests versus marketing communications projects/pieces.

What is most valuable?

Our team uses the platform for many different functions, and the ability to have multiple Kanban boards that are integrated into various other platforms our team uses has helped us become more efficient in our content creation strategies.

We also use dashboards to track how our projects are progressing and view how many open requests we have to complete.

As I have mentioned before, the integrations between Monday.com and various other software platforms have allowed us to streamline our communications and content creation processes, thus reducing the amount of time our team spends dedicated to these various tasks.

What needs improvement?

It would be helpful to have a direct comparison table/spreadsheet for Monday.com versus Asana and the many other project management software platforms. Our department recognizes that Monday.com is the right tool for us to use given our team size and use case, however, our IT department has been pushing us to consolidate software platforms and the use case for Monday.com has been brought into question since they are most familiar with Asana

It would also be helpful to have a social media connection between the Monday.com platform and the various social channels (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.). It would eliminate our need to use Monday.com and a social media management tool when publishing social content.

For how long have I used the solution?

Our department has been using monday.com since 2018.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is highly stable and we have never had any technical issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Monday is a highly scalable solution. It has helped us when we were at our peak business and as a growing organization, it also helped us when business was slow and we had to reduce our workforce.

How are customer service and support?

We have never had any technical support issues, however, the customer support team was very responsive when we were looking to add more user seats.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was extremely straightforward as there are many board templates to help new users get started with the platform.

What about the implementation team?

We implemented the product using only our in-house marketing communications and IT teams.

What was our ROI?

ROI isn't something we track since the pricing is so reasonable.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is a large variety of pricing and plans to help meet the needs of any organization.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Our information technology department has pushed us to use Asana, however, with our large archive of past projects and open requests, it is more efficient for us to continue using the Monday platform.

Provides great project management insights, great templates and useful sub-items
Pros and Cons
  • "The templates helped me to kick off process solutions for our team."
  • "It has more limitations than we expected."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for project management across the web team specifically responsible for desktop, tablet, and mobile design. Our team used this platform for planning projects, discussing blocks, and triggering the next steps for teams outside of the platform.

We moved on from Monday.com only for the reason that there was a proprietary project management tool already taking over the company and since we weren't a part of it we were missing out on visibility to stakeholders. We switched over recently to Workfront in order to maintain that visibility.

How has it helped my organization?

It allowed us to gain line of sight and start to ask ourselves questions revolving around project management, time on tasks, and the processes that we weren't asking previously.

It gave us the platform to start to combat burnout and increase communication across teams that were difficult to reach in a more automative and efficient way. Ultimately, Monday.com gave everyone on the team a workspace to get their work done. It was also a home base for all things work where they could see today, tomorrow, and forever if they wanted.

What is most valuable?

We really enjoyed the sub-items feature, sharing GIFs, and templates.

The templates helped me to kick off process solutions for our team.

The sub-items helped me to incorporate the smaller tasks to get the job done down and visible for management and planing purposes.

For a team where management is still learning the nuances of our work, time tracking the small steps are so important in planning and evangelizing the work.

The GIF sharing helped reinforce a sense of culture and camaraderie amongst our team.

What needs improvement?

We built so many dashboards and information utilizing templates and came into a few errors where information and ways of working with Monday.com were not as expected.

Monday markets itself as a project management tool that is flexible to work the way you want. That said, it has more limitations than we expected. It is fine, however, at the end of the day, they need to share more about how to use the platform videos rather than telling us to go off on our own and create something that doesn't ultimately work. That was frustrating and hard to explain where my hours went to management.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for two years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We are now using Workfront. We were using both platforms for a little while.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate the other solutions previously.

Straightforward to use, easy to set up, and offers both internal/external boards
Pros and Cons
  • "It has helped us be super creative with how we divide our boards between departments."
  • "Often we receive technical difficulties on the platform and the entire website will be down."

What is our primary use case?

I use the product for project and task management and communications between different departments. It's great for design requests and updates on deliverables.

We use the software at the marketing agency, where having different clients sure gets overwhelming at some points. How we’ve designed our boards, makes it easier to keep track of all the clients and the progress status of their services as well as review the weekly KPI analytical reporting for each client.

The platform is also pretty easy and straight forward to use.

How has it helped my organization?

It has helped us be super creative with how we divide our boards between departments.

Now we have one main workspace for launching clients, one for waiting, one for recurring, and one for internal.

Under the internal we have it sectioned per department, per client and per service signed up. We also have sections for analytics reporting so that we have all our info in one place. Each client gets a board with all their needed information and links.

This has definitely made it easier for everyone on the team to be updated.

What is most valuable?

The templates they provide are super helpful to make you start off right the way. The automation available is also a great way to take things off of your hands by automating the process behind it. The ability to track the timelines of every single project and see all the comments and updates makes it easier for upper management to easily review work and keep track of the progress we’ve come through.

We actually base all our internal team meetings on Monday, where we start going through each workspace and client boards.

What needs improvement?

Often we receive technical difficulties on the platform and the entire website will be down. We’ve noticed this happens more often recently which interrupts our internal process as we work on the platform on a daily basis.

It would be great if the platform has a Kanban look and board to track all projects and tasks from backlog, to to-do, to in progress, in review, approved, and all the steps necessary so all requests are going through all steps to ensure seamless operations between all departments.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for over four years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability looks promising.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The platform needs to be more US-focused with local offices and local talent.

How are customer service and support?

We've never gotten into Monday support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used Asana and Jira. Monday has better aesthetics.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is pretty simple and easy to get the hang of.

What about the implementation team?

We handled the initial setup in-house.

What was our ROI?

We've seen an ROI of at least 5X.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The enterprise plan can be a bit cheaper.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Asana and Jira.
