Informatica Corporation is a software development company founded in 1993. It is headquartered in Redwood City, California. In 2006, Informatica launched its Informatica Cloud business. In 2010, the Informatica Marketplace was launched offering a data integration eco-system for Partners, Customers, Developers and Informatica to share and leverage data integration solutions. On April 7, 2015, Permira and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board announced that a company controlled by the Permira funds and CPPIB has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Informatica for approximately US$5.3 billion.VMware, Inc. is a US software company that provides cloud and virtualization software and services, VMware's desktop software runs on Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, while its enterprise software hypervisors for servers, VMware ESX and VMware ESXi, are bare-metal hypervisors that run directly on server hardware without requiring an additional underlying operating system. In 1998, VMware was founded by Diane Greene, Mendel Rosenblum, Scott Devine, Edward Wang and Edouard Bugnion. Greene and Rosenblum, who are married, first met while at the University of California, Berkeley.
