What is most valuable?

I like the performance. I think it's what you call a hybrid SAN. It has solid state drives and, of course, regular optical drives, which would make performance a lot better, faster. I like the Reduxio… more»

What needs improvement?

The ones that I mentioned to them awhile back, they addressed, like the ability to replicate to other non-Reduxio systems, and replicate to cloud storage, for example. They've addressed that, and… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I think it is worth the value. What would we buy it if we didn't think it was of value to us?

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

My file storage solutions right now are both getting to end-of-life. I have a solution from HPE and a solution from EMC. The idea is to make Reduxio my primary storage. Instead of having two different… more»

What other advice do I have?

We haven't really used it yet. We're still trying to install it. We bought it, but it's not in production yet. We had a proof of concept unit that was given to us, for a "test drive," and to see all… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I looked at HPE solutions, Nimble, SimpliVity. I looked at Tintri. I looked at a few other solutions out there as well.

What is most valuable?

* Super easy to use, manage, maintain; just jump into the pool and start to swim, the learning curve was super quick. * Very good price/performance solution. *… more»

How has it helped my organization?

By using the BackDating option we can restore volumes based on time. It also reduces volumes and maintenance time. Before we moved to Reduxio, we had difficulties managing… more»

What needs improvement?

It needs integration with cloud vendors for remote storage, and to be able to restore a single machine from a specific volume. Integration is needed with other virtual… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product's pricing is definitely a good value. I think that the license is pretty fair. As much as I know, there are two kinds of licenses, mostly for the capacity… more»

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

We used traditional storage but when they didn't renew support we found Reduxio. We switched to Reduxio mostly because of faster performance. They challenged, big-time… more»

What other advice do I have?

We have already replaced our storage and backup with Reduxio’s converged primary and secondary platform. My first impression was, "Wow, it's cool, I don’t believe that it… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated EMC and HPE. We looked at and considered Nimble, before it became HPE, and we looked for an IBM solution. When I looked for other vendors I found their… more»

What is most valuable?

The BackDating feature which allows us to go back to any point in the past at one second granularity, is an amazing feature and allows us to recover from any mishap to our… more»

How has it helped my organization?

Our ability to respond to any data damage has improved dramatically. Performance has also improved substantially.

What needs improvement?

Scalability. Reduxio has only one product, they don’t have an option, for now, to expand the storage product.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Reduxio’s licensing model is quite attractive. All licenses are included in the product pricing.

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

Yes, we used a different product from one of the large storage vendors. We switched because the service contract ended.

What other advice do I have?

First impression was that "it's too good to be true" and we wanted to see if the product really does deliver all the capabilities that were presented to us. It's not "just… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

NetApp.

What is most valuable?

* Fast * Data-efficient * The down-to-the-second restore capability, native to the device * The UI is very simple in Reduxio, not difficult at all to navigate and work… more»

How has it helped my organization?

We are almost entirely virtualized, so responsive and reliable flash storage for our VMs is critical to performance.

What needs improvement?

Room for improvement is a harder question than you might think. Reduxio does its job very well for us. Reliable and fast. The latest release limits web access to the admin… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The compression and dedupe are very effective on Reduxio, so it may be worth asking about licensing partial capacity on a unit, if the full capacity seems overkill for… more»

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

We previously used Nimble (still have an older install on premise), and switched largely due to price and for the restore flexibility of the Reduxio.

What other advice do I have?

Our first impression of Reduxio was that it was simple to setup and use, and highly reliable. That impression has not changed over time at all. They definitely feel like a… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We mostly evaluated against a refresh of our existing Nimble storage.

What is most valuable?

* Ease of use * Time to market * Scalability We can install new software and new applications in no time. That means we don't need buy a new shelf or new disks, just… more»

How has it helped my organization?

We deployed a new project and application and I didn't even have to call my boss and ask for a new budget for new disks and new storage. We just implemented the… more»

What needs improvement?

If Reduxio could manage multiple Reduxio systems within the same dashboard, or manage them as a single mode, it be very, very helpful for us.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I think they're really worth what I get. It's not cheap, but I get all I need.

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

I used many, six or seven vendors before Reduxio. NetApp, EMC, IBM, HPE, etc. What makes Reduxio different is the ease of use, although the reliability is the same as the… more»

What other advice do I have?

My first impression of Reduxio was that they were the coolest startup in the neighborhood. They do storage and they do it well, well enough that Afcon can trust them. It's… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

NetApp, EMC, HPE.

What is most valuable?

The product was purchased for three reasons: * Enables multiple hosts access to the virtual machines by providing for moving VMs due to maintenance or host failure. *… more»

How has it helped my organization?

The provision for high availability by sharing Reduxio storage among hosts, which was the most important.

What needs improvement?

Capacity possibly need improvement. The product fills a nice segment where top access speed is not needed (i.e., pure flash), but consolidated management of servers is… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing and licensing were favorable. The advantage of using HDDs to store (versus pure flash) makes the price point attractive versus other options.

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

We augmented our environment with the Reduxio. The VMs were previously on a RAID 6 system which was more difficult to share among hosts simultaneously. The flashcache and… more»

What other advice do I have?

The machine has been easy to use. Be sure to utilize Reduxio's support as they can be very helpful.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Pure Storage and Nimble.

What is most valuable?

The TimeOS support and I/O performance. For instance, recovery of data from any point in time, and the speed of the unit, are incredible compared to other devices we… more»

How has it helped my organization?

This device has allowed us to reduce our footprint, saving money on equipment refresh and maintenance. It has given us a major upgrade in performance I/O, increasing… more»

What needs improvement?

* Have some hooks into cloud storage for backup. * Update the system to use additional secondary storage as a resource.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Only one device is sold. Negotiate the initial storage, but you can start small and move up with ease. Negotiate. We went with the base tier. It's one size. Even though… more»

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

Hardware refresh cycle demanded the replacement of an older EMC VNXe 3100 unit within our VMware array. We needed to find a new solution for our data store. We looked… more»

What other advice do I have?

We have not looked into the option of replacing our storage and backup with Reduxio’s converged primary and secondary platform. However, we were impressed by the TimeOS… more»

What is most valuable?

It's a box that stores our files and backs them up.

How has it helped my organization?

We've only been using it a month, so it's too early to say.

What needs improvement?

The only critique that we have is it needs the ability to have local users added. You have to log in as one built-in admin account. You can't create your own.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product's pricing is a good value.

If you previously used a different solution, which one did you use and why did you switch?

We've used other storage and other back up solutions. We've never had it in one box. We switched because we needed a new storage and backup solution and this one fit both… more»

What other advice do I have?

Our first impression when we were introduced to the product was very good. I still think it's very good. They are truly different. The whole product is based on… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We looked at all the primary storage vendors out there: Pure Storage, Nimble Storage, NetApp, EMC.
