My advice would be to understand what you want to get out of it, and that only one person should maintain it. Weigh the cost against the benefits of having it.

My first advice would be to try to stick to the out-of-the-box solution as much as you can. It's good, and it works. It works for our customers, which is the most important thing. The out-of-the-box solution works. It is simple, and the customers love it. So, don't spend time and money on making fancy stuff that will just make your life complicated. My second piece of advice would be that leverage your ERP as much as possible. Try to find places in the ERP to manage all the information that you're going to show on your platform, rather than finding very fancy and creative ways to manage all the information. As an organization, we decided to not embrace a lot of flexibility. We decided to embrace stability by not doing any development. We had quite a lot of options in terms of what can we do with the tool, how can we set it up, and how can we use it. We looked at them and then we chose which one made more sense for us. If you're a company that doesn't have this strict policy of no customizations and having as vanilla software as possible, I know you can customize the platform quite easily. That's what everyone used to do before, but we haven't really gone through that path. I do think it is very easy to customize it if you want to, but we really haven't done it.
