The project was instituted to ensure that globally we have a single standard for our assets and the software build associated with those assets. Included in the scope of work was the measurement of application use and compliance to software and system license conditions. Additionally, we also managed the asset warranty and associated asset replacement lifecycle.
As hindsight is 20/20 one could have done and achieved a lot more than what we did. From a change point of view, I severely underestimated the impact the solution had on the enterprise and how it changed the operations of the business. Given that view I would invest more time in ensuring that the solution is adequately staffed and that more focus is given to Change Enablement.
