The total ranking of a product, represented by the bar length, is based on a weighted aggregate score. The score is calculated as follows: The product with the highest count in each area gets the highest available score. (20 points for Reviews; 16 points for Views, Comparisons, and Followers.) Every other product gets assigned points based on its total in proportion to the #1 product in that area. For example, if a product has 80% of the number of reviews compared to the product with the most reviews then the product's score for reviews would be 20% (weighting factor) * 80% = 16. For Average Rating, the maximum score is 32 points awarded linearly based on our rating scale of 1-10. If a product has fewer than ten reviews, the point contribution for Average Rating is reduced (one-third reduction in points for products with 5-9 reviews; two-thirds reduction for products with fewer than five reviews). Reviews that are more than 24 months old, as well as those written by resellers, are completely excluded from the ranking algorithm.

What is most valuable?

Our favourite features are: The ability to cross publish windows apps to linux and linux apps to windows. We have a lot of niche applications that we have never been able to virtualise that have had to sit on dedicated virtual machines for... more»

If anything, we are more efficient as a business now. We spend less time waiting for apps to load on our local machines and more time working. We also have less to worry about if a device goes missing, as no data is stored on our mobile... more»

What needs improvement?

To be honest, not a great deal. We have been very impressed by what OVD has to offer. The only thing I can see that OVD will need is additional scalability i.e. if we were going to expand to a larger implementation in excess of 1000 users.... more»

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is our control. If I want to disable a user I just go to that particular user and disable them. And if I want to publish any application, if there is a new application that I want to publish, it is very easy.

How has it helped my organization?

The connection is compressed so we don't need a lot of resources to run it. Also, the ease of use. Initially, before using Parallels, we had to manually install whatever applications we were using. So if I had, for example, five users, and... more»

What do you think of XenApp?

Valuable Features Remote access BYOD High performance Feature-rich, full desktop experience • Improvements to My Organization It has enabled remote working from anyplace, anytime, and anywhere It has simplified, secured, and centralized the challenges of O/S deployment across the enterprise. • Room for Improvement They could reduce the number of bugs and fixes required post release. This would ensure a smooth integration with any flavour of hypervisor or cloud provider. • Use of Solution I have been using the product for fifteen years. • Deployment Issues Over the years Citrix has increased the pace in which new versions are released, and often the product has not gone through thorough enough testing so the consultants are left very challenged trying to resolve...

Primary Use Case It is our primary remote access solution for remote desktop. • Improvements to My Organization It permits us to control the applications that our users are able to get to, in a seamless manner. We're able to distribute applications to users' desktops, just like those applications are on each user's computer, but they're not. • Valuable Features Easy to install Super stable Easy to manage • Room for Improvement It's a really good product.
