Does Veritas NetBackup Appliance log the creation and removal of user accounts?

Viewing the creation or deletion of user accounts in Veritas NetBackup Appliance may require enabling these logs:

• The Audit Log records all events related to user activity, including logins, logouts, and changes to user permissions.


• The System Activity Log records all events related to the operation of the Veritas NetBackup Appliance, including changes to configuration settings and errors.

Some suggest following the steps below to enable the logs mentioned above:

1. In the NetBackup Appliance web interface, navigate to System > Logging.


2. Select the Audit Log and the System Activity Log checkboxes.


3. Click Save.

Once you have enabled these logs, you may be able to see the deleted or created user accounts in Veritas NetBackup Appliance.

Additional things to keep in mind:

• The Audit Log and System Activity Log may not be enabled by default. You may need to contact your NetBackup administrator to enable the logs.


• The System Activity Log may be large, so you may need to utilize a filter for narrowing down results.
