Clearswift SECURE Email Gateway Review

Stable, but malware needs improvement and customer support is poor


What is our primary use case?

We use a few features for web proxy, and another feature is the email content filter and malware for our internal policy in the email content. I'm a systems administrator and we are customers of Clearswift. 

What is most valuable?

It's a stable solution. 

What needs improvement?

They need to improve the malware in the product. I am not satisfied with Clearswift because of the lack of customer support. The support is poor, the supplier takes a lot of time and it's expensive. We have some issues here when I contact the supplier, it takes a lot of time for them to get back to us but there's no solution. I am now looking at Symantec as a possible alternative.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for six years. 

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's a stable solution, no big problems. 

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's quite scalable. We have about 2,000 users for email and around 600 for the web. 

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. It takes about a minute. 

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Compared to other similar products, this is an expensive solution. 

What other advice do I have?

I'm not satisfied with the solution but I believe it's a good product. 

I would rate this solution a six out of 10.
