How are customer service and technical support?
Customer Service: That is the only area where SAS needs to look into. It was just satisfactory.Technical Support: Good
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Yes, we were using a number of third party softwares and needed a single technology based platform to reduce redundancies, have better operational management, better data management, and good management reporting.
How was the initial setup?
The initial set-up is not difficult, if you know how to do it. Otherwise setting-up any tool will give you nightmares.
What about the implementation team?
We implemented it through a vendor. They were excellent and knew how to go about.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Solution set-up cost was high as SAS is an expensive product. The costs depends on the scope of work. However, the tools are cheap and high on returns in terms of data insights, data accessibility, data management, and reporting.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Yes, we did evaluate a number of products before choosing SAS tools and products. Other products evaluated were: Business Objects, Cognos, IBM Mentas for AML, Risk Tools for Termenos.
What other advice do I have?
Follow the suggested implementation approach and it will be a smooth sailing. The core issue in any business analytics and business intelligence solutions is always data quality, deployment architecture and skilled human resource. Ensure that you have deliberated on these in detail and there will be no issues or hiccups during implementation
