Palo Alto Networks WildFire Valuable Features

The most valuable feature is where it automatically opens up the emails and checks to see if any damage occurs to the system. That's something that would be difficult for us to do here manually, simply because we get so many emails coming in. I think about 80% of the emails we get are spam and for us to be able to manually go through that, one by one, looking to see whether they are good or not, would take perhaps 50 people full-time.
I love the idea of Palo Alto Networks WildFire. It's more geared toward preventing malware. If someone's laptop or phone is malware-infected, the tool prevents it from uploading valuable corporate data outside the corporate network. That's what I love about Palo Alto Networks WildFire. It stops malware in its tracks.
View full review »I can say with confidence, that when compared, the firewall that stands above the rest is the Palo Alto. My 20 years of experience working with firewalls and 20 years of network experience provide me with a well-rounded view of firewalls and the networks they are protecting.
I highly recommend the Palo Alto Networks WildFire as it is the best device in
comparison to other network products in the marketplace.

It gives a more accurate assessment of a virus in terms of whether it's truly a virus, malware, or a false positive. We have some legacy software that could pop up as being something that is malware. WildFire goes through and inspects it, and then it comes back and lets us know if it's a false positive. Usually, when it finds out that it's not a virus, it lets us know that it's benign, and it can exclude it from that scan, which means I don't even have to worry about that one popping up anymore.

You have better control because you define apps. You just don't define ports. You define apps, and the apps are monitored in the traffic. It is more specific than the Cisco firewall when it comes to our needs.

The most valuable features of Palo Alto Networks WildFire are the good URL and file analysis that uses artificial intelligence. It has different interfaces, such as rest, SMTP protocol, and HTTPS. The Security incidents and event management are very good. Additionally, there are many file types that are supported and there is no limit to the number of files it can handle simultaneously. It integrates well with SIEM solutions.

The most effective feature of WildFire for threat analysis is its collaboration with other security profiles on our Palo Alto firewall. While I primarily view WildFire as a repository for security incidents, its integration with antivirus and antispam profiles enhances our overall threat detection capabilities.
- App-ID
- Easy migration
- Credential-based attack prevention
- PBF easily configured
- Whole team can use the firewall and understand it
The most valuable features of the solution are its static and dynamic analysis that analyzes many of your files, allowing you to know if it is a good or the best file.

WildFire analyzes the malware in the network such as SSDB and can help analyze the files transmitted over the network, and can detect if the file contains malware.
There are features such as sandboxing in cloud. It submits malware to Palo Alto on the cloud, verifies the reputation file, and analyzes the malware in the files.
The graphic user interface of Palo Alto is good and it's easy to configure.

What I found most valuable in Palo Alto Networks WildFire is that it's intuitive. I also love the App-ID feature, especially because it works out of the box. I can also instantly see all the traffic going out, e.g. I can just plug a firewall in, then connect one network socket to a switch, etc. There's no configuration I need to do to see it. It just tells me that you're sending BitTorrent traffic, or SLL traffic, or you're going into 365, etc. It just does that out of the box, and it's the best thing that this solution can do. Straight away you can see all the traffic going through your network.
Palo Alto Networks WildFire, because it's from Palo Alto Networks, has better visibility on everything, so they can see what's happening in the world. They recently released the Palo Alto Networks WildFire machine learning feature on the firewall, so it's them saying: "This thing's happening on your firewall, so you should do this," and it just does it for you. Rather than relying on a human to interpret these problems, it will just do it for you, and that's pretty cool. I've not played with the machine learning feature myself, but that's something I'm very keen to have a look at.

The most valuable feature of this solution is how it keeps up-to-date with viruses.
It has the ability to block bots that are trying to come into the network, and the Dynamic updates, pushing to the Palo Alto firewall. For example, if information comes into the enterprise and there are some new viruses, it automatically sends it to WildFire to validate.
If it's new, they flag it, change it, and update all of the different firewalls across the globe, to inform everyone of what is going on.

We appreciate the support of Palo Alto Networks WildFire for our next-generation firewall equipment in deployment.
It can do sandboxing on the premises, and it can be directly integrated with Palo Alto NGFW. The malware information on the file that has been sandboxing will be directly updated to the Palo Alto NGFW, and added to the Palo Alto Networks NGFW malware signature library. Also, the credential data within the file that has been sandboxing still be kept on the premises.

I have found that there are many good features found with this solution. There is the option of cloud and an on-premises version.
The service-level agreement(SLA) provides the ability to converts the unknown to the known in less than five minutes.
The environment analysis runs in multiple areas and does not just execute in one area, such as the virtual hypervisor.
The solution is completely integrated with all the other Palo Alto products. I think that it is the best part for endpoint protection. The firewall features include URL and DNS filtering, threat protection, and antivirus.

I really like the product, it is easy to manage and easy to use.
View full review »It has one of the best WebUIs that I have used, because at a glance looks simple, but offers us a lot of options to secure all the traffic that is passing through the device (or all traffic that the user decides to pass through). Besides, the way that scan the applications to detect what kind of application is do not affect anything about the device's performance. The way that the product process or handle the traffic, is one of the best in the industry.
