Easy to upgrade and manage but needs better reporting

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use this solution as an endpoint product. It was mainly being used for an antivirus. They did have the capabilities for device control to block USBs and CD re-writables, et cetera, from being used.

Pros and Cons

  • "In general, it was pretty easy to manage."
  • "We would get a lot of false positives and instead of them fixing the false positive, they would just want us to put in an exception, which I didn't care for."

What other advice do I have?

We were using the latest version of the solution. We were using the latest on-premises version. It's probably a good product for small businesses. It's just that we literally doubled in the last year. We outgrew it. It was an easy product to manage prior to our growth spurt. I'd rate the solution at a six out of ten. I'd rate it higher if it offered artificial intelligence and worked for larger-scale businesses.

Easy to deploy, good price, low overhead, and keeps our Servers and PC's free of virus'

What is our primary use case?

We use it for on both production server and end user desktops. About 120 desktops and 180 servers. We keep it updated to the latest version and deploy it to both public cloud and on-premises systems.

Pros and Cons

  • "It has low overhead as far as machine resources are concerned. Everything runs faster with VIPRE installed versus some of the competitors. It has also been pretty easy to use. It just runs and gives us reports. It also sends us alerts when there is something that we need to look at. It does its job, and you just look at the reports. In other ways, you just forget that it is there."
  • "Their management interface is a little buggy. It requires a few system resources on the management interface. Its reporting can also be better. Overall, the reports are pretty good. They patch some third-party software, but if they can expand what they do for reporting and patch enterprise software, it would be handy."

What other advice do I have?

It makes sense. It is easy to deploy and work with. I would rate VIPRE Endpoint Security an eight out of ten. There is always room for improvement, and there is some bugginess in the management console.
