HiĀ Folks,
Ataccama isn't a full Metadata Management tool and doesn't cater to technical metadata (such as Data Lineage) - if there's anyone out there using this tool, how do you fill those gaps?
Presumably, with other EMM tooling, but how well do they integrate/work together?
Any thoughts on how Ataccama best fits into a broader solution architecture?
And, which technologies would folks recommend that fill the needs for technical, operational, and business metadata (including DQ metrics, etc.)?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Mick
Here are some thoughts on how to fill the gaps in Ataccama's Metadata Management capabilities, as reported by others:
Several other EMM tools focus on technical metadata, such as data lineage, and these tools may be integrated with Ataccama to provide a more comprehensive view of metadata.
Ataccama reportedly provides APIs that may be used to integrate Ataccama with other EMM tools, and this may be a good option if you need to integrate data from multiple sources into Ataccama.
Ataccama's Data Modeling capabilities may be used to create models of your data landscape. These models may track technical metadata, such as data lineage.
How well Ataccama integrates with other EMM tooling depends on the specific tools used. However, Ataccama provides several integration points that make it relatively easy to integrate with other tools.
Ataccama best fits into a broader solution architecture as a central repository for metadata. Other EMM tools may be used to collect and store technical metadata, and Ataccama may be used to integrate and manage this metadata.
Here are some technologies that you could try to fill the needs for technical, operational, and business metadata, as shared by many:
