If you are new to accounting or the program, QuickBooks desktop is the version to use. However, the ease of QuickBooks online cannot be matched. I have to double-check, but I think they are making QuickBooks desktop Online or accessible online. I have to double-check that. I haven't done that one yet, but it is so much easier, and intuitive to use the QuickBooks Desktop. Since most people are working remotely, you have to go with QBO. In my person and professional experience, it's still the best solution. I would rate it a ten out of ten.
I work in a small company with eight people using QBO. I'd rate QBO as eight out of ten. I've not used much software, so I cannot say that QBO is perfect. I also didn't find shortcuts or a keyboard for using the tool, but apart from that, QBO is very easy to learn and use, so it's an eight for me. I'd tell anyone looking into using the tool that it's the best for small to medium-scale businesses because the business owner and account can directly access it, so you won't have to move the accounting data from one person to another. QBO is a very friendly solution that allows you to schedule taxes and salaries, and you can generate tax filing forms from it directly, so it's a good tool. My company is a QBO customer. It doesn't have a partnership with QBO.
