VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) Review

Straightforward Setup And Fast Provisioning.

What is most valuable?

Fast provisioning and integration with public cloud. Our customers want the VMs to be up and running as early as possible. Also, some of our customers need their workloads to be running on the public clouds like AWS to minimize the cost. Using vRA, we can easily integrate AWS and can provision VMs on them.

How has it helped my organization?

Fast provisioning.

What needs improvement?

I don’t see configuration management feasibility. I think there should be a configuration management tool on the user dashboard. It can be used to patch/update the servers provisioned through vRA for an inbuilt facility.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have seen couple of bugs.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Not really.

How are customer service and technical support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Yes. Poor vendor support and less stability.

How was the initial setup?

It was straightforward but they still need to improve the IaaS components.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Compared to other vendors in the market the licensing cost is OK.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Yes. HPE.

What other advice do I have?

Go for it.

Which version of this solution are you currently using?

v7.x
