What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is very scalable, and it is very easy to add new users.

We have 200 to 300 users of this solution. We will expand its usage depending on our needs. If needed, we'll extend the number of users.

How are customer service and support?

Our administration team handles that. I never needed support from them.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

It was a company decision. We are a part of a bigger group, and in that group, we had Salesforce. It was also easy to deploy because we had a Salesforce specialist.

How was the initial setup?

I'm not an admin of this tool, so I don't know about its setup. In terms of its maintenance, it is provided as a SaaS service. Its maintenance is not our business. It is provided by Salesforce.

What other advice do I have?

I would definitely recommend this solution. Salesforce is very good. I would rate it a nine out of 10.

Scales very well and allows you to do a lot of things, but its interface has way too much information and needs to be cleaned up a bit
Pros and Cons
  • "It is a one-stop shop for running anything related to sales. You can do a lot of things."
  • "It is very clunky. Its interface can be more user-friendly. There is always way too much information going on in Salesforce. It puts too much on your screen. It gives you every piece of information in the world, whereas I need less. It would be nice for it to be cleaned up a bit."

What is most valuable?

It is a one-stop shop for running anything related to sales. You can do a lot of things.

What needs improvement?

It is very clunky. Its interface can be more user-friendly. There is always way too much information going on in Salesforce. It puts too much on your screen. It gives you every piece of information in the world, whereas I need less. It would be nice for it to be cleaned up a bit.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for about four or five years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is highly scalable. We have at least 500 users. About 70% to 80% of the company is using this solution.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't interacted with them. It is usually handled internally.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I haven't used any other solution.

How was the initial setup?

I wasn't involved with its implementation, but it is complex, and it has to be. I can't fault it.

What other advice do I have?

Salesforce is often recommended in order to scale, but it makes more sense to use Salesforce once you have scaled. There are smaller and simpler solutions, and if you don't need the complexity of Salesforce, it doesn't make sense to use it.

I would rate it a seven out of 10. I am generally satisfied with it.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used an alternative solution but it didn't meet our expectations on user interface and data consolidation. We switched, as Sales Cloud exceeded our expectations in these areas.

How was the initial setup?

It was very straightforward. The only problems with the initial setup was created by us in our discussions about our internal sales process.

What about the implementation team?

We used an internal team with help of an hired partner specialized in the platform.

What was our ROI?

We haven't calculated the ROI because our main objective was to provide an effective solution that our sales team can use without issues.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this product for beginners and advanced sales teams. Considering the alternatives that I know, it is the best solution.

We were trying to integrate it with SAP ERP. But the integration project was freezed, not because of salesforce or any tech concern.

About the Complex Solution Sales, our process involved a lot of items, with different configurations and options. Our opportunity value was based on items prices and a few other prices. In this situation, the description of opportunity became very hard for our sales team. They need to track these items and prices in an excel sheet that did not integrated well with salesforce.

Intuitive and easy to customize. But the mobile app is lacking

Valuable Features:

As a Software sales professional, Salesforce.com helps me greatly organize the multitude of complex sales cycles I manage on a daily basis. The interface is very intuitive. I also appreciate the ability to customize the application for my particular business. And, I appreciate it's ability to integrate with other cloud and desktop products.

Room for Improvement:

The mobile application for Salesforce.com is somewhat lacking. I would have expected more from this leading organization. I also at times am frustrated my the response time as I am logging activities in the system. I seem to be waiting on a page to load. This wasted time can add up over a day.

No doubt salesforce.com is one of the leading CRM providers. Various fetures make salesforce.com a leader in CRM market like:
1) Intutive UI,
2) Allows to manage complex sales cycle from lead generation to providing quotes,
3) Great analytic tools for forecasting and many more.

Salesforce - Best of Breed, but Overkills to a Point

Valuable Features:

Lots of functionality and it is a customizable interface.

Room for Improvement:

There is TOO much functionality and it is far too complex. Not a user-friendly interface with overkill features that diminish the point of having the system in the first place.

SAAS solution, easy to deploy globally, easy to...

Valuable Features:

Best of breed SAAS solution, easy to deploy globally, easy to customize to comply with any business process, ideal for small-growing organizations. Very intuitive, and widely accepted by sales people. On-going innovation, with zero investment in upgrades.

Room for Improvement:

Become VERY expensive as you grow. Endless number of limitation force license upgrade to Enterprise and then to Unlimited, and to double the price per user. Many additional hidden costs pop-up in time. Insufficient reporting and dashboards functionality.
