What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature for our organization is that the solution provides us access to the storage we need without having to have multiple storage experts on staff to… more»

How has it helped my organization?

We can have fewer resources manning and monitoring the storage and we can reallocate resources to work on other things while maintaining confidence in our storage… more»

What needs improvement?

As far as what future versions of the product should include, I don't have any experience with what it is lacking. It is really up to the technical guys to determine what… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We purchased the solution for something in the $80,000 range. It was a fixed-price option.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used a different solution and knew we needed to change our solution to provide storage for our virtualization. The storage solution we had previously could… more»

What other advice do I have?

On a scale of one to ten, I would say this product is a nine. I think it does what it promises and support is decent. The only drawback I find is the size of the… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We had a couple of options that we were considering before going with Nimble. We also looked at some of the offerings from Dell. I think those were the two main ones… more»

What is most valuable?

Multi-protocol is the most valuable feature for us. It does everything in one system: CIFS, ISCSI, and fiber channel. Other systems don't do all that.

How has it helped my organization?

NetApp helped us with its ease of deployment and ease of use. The solution's data protection and data management are also easy. AFF has improved our response time by about… more»

The procurement process could be improved. It takes a long time for us to receive stuff. The product is good. It's not the product, it's just that it takes forever to get… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of the upgrading of the solution is high. I could buy a whole unit of All Flash FAS 300 with a shelf for around $285,000. Yet if I want to add one additional… more»

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We had an AFF already there. We just upgraded. In my previous company, where I was for five years, we used NetApp extensively. So I had a lot of experience and interaction… more»

What other advice do I have?

I think it fits a multitude of needs. For someone who doesn't know how to provision storage, it gives you, SIPS and NAS storage. NAS storage gives you a SAN protocol so… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Pure Storage and Nimble. I've used HPE 3PAR and Tintri as well. We've looked at a lot of different vendors. Most of them were better in terms of their upgrade… more»

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the ease of use. It's really plug-and-play. It just works and it works really well.

How has it helped my organization?

We went from a four-cabinet VMAX array, where we paid $16,000 a month for a pod just for the array to sit in, and we took that down to seven U's of rack space in our existing co-lo facility. Not only… more»

What needs improvement?

I haven't really had a bad experience or something I think that they can improve on. I'm not saying that to be really nice. The way the platform works, the way that their sales team works, the way… more»

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We were looking to get away from Dell EMC to some other platform, and Pure was the number-one disruptor in the market. Their story, their price point, and what they said they could deliver are what… more»

What other advice do I have?

Like I tell everybody else that I deal with, if you want to focus your time on doing more valuable things for your company, and you deal with storage on a day-to-day basis like I do, the best thing… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We also evaluated Dell EMC, 3PAR, Nimble, Tintri, and NetApp.
