HPE Ethernet Switches Scalability
It is a scalable solution. I would rate the scalability a seven out of ten because it depends on various factors like the network, users, and administrators. But for my work and performance, it's more than enough.
There are around 40 to 50 end users using this solution in our company. We do have plans to increase the usage because as the company grows, user numbers will also increase.

The scalability and backbone don't come into play often. I would say HPE switches are as scalable as anything else out there.

The solution is scalable, you can add a switch when you need to, and you can reconfigure it.

Scalability is determined by a pricing decision. HPEs are not at all a Juniper or anything like that, but for a budget shop like ours, they are adequate.
Our company has 250 users who use this product extensively.
View full review »I cannot comment on the scalability because it is not something that we consider. When we decide on a solution, we go for it completely, from the beginning to the end. We start with the complete solution on day one, as opposed to starting small and then looking to scale it later on.
The number of users for each of our switches depends on the circumstances. In some sites, we have ten or twenty users. In other sites, depending on how big it is, like an industrial facility or a hotel, we do not know. Many of our solutions are used in retail or hospitality environments.

You can have a 40 GIG QSFP Uplink for the top of Rex switches, or even one for your core switches, that's over 40 GIG, 100 GIG Uplink. That is what everybody is going towards now, with all the data centers. It's up to the mark.

The Openflow hardware table doesn't provide a byte-count statistic, and the software table provides a byte-count statistic but with errors.
I found that the possible reason for this is that the software-limit rate of the switch, which is 10,000 pps maximum, with an advice in the switch manual that if we increase the limit-rate above 1,000 pps, it is possible that this increases CPU and impacts system performance.
