What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are - 1. Ease of setup 2. Ease of Management with Web UI 3. InfoSight - analytics sight that collects data for all Nimble arrays deployed Infosight has been very valuable with determining upgrade requirements,... more»

How has it helped my organization?

These arrays perform very well and have allowed us to move many physical servers to virtual and run them from the Nimble arrays without any performance impact and there is actual performance improvement.

What needs improvement?

No areas require improvement at this time. The arrays run very well and updates are flawless when completing.

What is most valuable?

The ease of managing this system! Recently added the All Flash CN3400F and oh my goodness are these nodes fast as lighting! I love having a private cloud for my organization. Public cloud will never care for my organizations data more than I do.

How has it helped my organization?

The inline dedupe and compression has allowed me to run all my servers and appliances (total 60) in an HA configuration while taking up just 8U of rack space (4x2U nodes). There is incredibly fast I/O and with the OmniCubes, my users are... more»

What needs improvement?

I gave it an excellent rating, thus I think it's well excellent! If there was anything I would like to see, it would be indexed backups. You have to hunt a bit if you have to restore a file. Index the backups and it would be perfect!

What is most valuable?

* The Remote Copy Group is amazing for the replication stuff. * We also use dynamic optimization to go between tiers. * The reporting, as well. We can quickly see performance per CPG and per LUN. You can drill right down to see actual... more»

How has it helped my organization?

Certainly now, with the all-flash arrays, the performance that we get out of those means that we can host far more VMs on a smaller virtual volume. We get much better performance out of those volumes now.

What needs improvement?

We're going to start to explore integration with public clouds, and I know that that's something that's very hot in the storage space at the moment. That's something we're looking at. Apart from that, we're looking forward to going to the... more»

What is most valuable?

In the data center, you see customers with a lot of blade enclosures and a lot of servers, and this solution works fine. I have one customer in Belgium that I know that is testing it, and they're quite happy about it. There are some challenges, but it is software. For software, you have developers. The hardware is there.

What needs improvement?

With the changing IT demands, they need to change more often and faster. We need applications to model tomorrow’s needs. We need more applications for changing users. There is a need for a more optimized infrastructure. For instance, I have a customer with 20 blade enclosures. In those 20 blade enclosures, there are 40 management modules that you need to update... more»

What do you think of HPE StoreVirtual?

Improvements to My Organization Shared storage in the organization allowed for higher availability and simplified server maintenance. • Valuable Features Enables us to build highly available shared storage from a standard rack server, such as HPE Proliant DL. However, it is not limited to that. Thin provisioning lets us get the most value from the hard drives. I found the architecture to have less single point failure than a traditional SAN. • Room for Improvement Configuration of application integrated snapshots for VMware is convoluted and it did not work immediately. • Stability Issues In terms of stability, the optional MEM (Multipath Enhancement Module) was unstable in one installation with 1GB iSCSI network. Long running, intensive file copying tasks between VMs...

What is most valuable?

The tool was simple to use. Other hybrid cloud management tools can take days, weeks, or months to set up and deploy. OneSphere, for a beta, was a day to set up, potentially even less now that it is out of beta and onto its second revision.... more»

What needs improvement?

We are looking to be able to set a hard budget for the workspaces or projects. While we like the fact that there is not a true approval process to speed development, it would be nice to be able to allocate amounts to projects and cap them,... more»

What is most valuable?

Our first impressions were: * The simplicity * The speed at which it works * It worked right the first time, out-of-the-box. These are what really caught my eye. Working with other tools in this space, I have never had anything work on the... more»

How has it helped my organization?

I see this fitting into a lot of our customer profiles, as they are starting to make the transition from a traditional, monolithic, waterfall model into a DevOps CI/CD model. This gets them going - crawl, walk, run - straight from crawl to... more»

What needs improvement?

Ironically, most of the features that we might have wanted to see were already introduced in the product announcement today, from what we saw in the beta, which was kind of cool. You can't come to market unless you have Azure support, and... more»

What do you think of HPE SimpliVity?

Primary Use Case We are hosting virtual machines on it, and it is performing quite well. • Improvements to My Organization We used to have a lot more units reserved in the rack for virtual machine hosting. Now it is only two units per site. Another improvement of course is the backup, the disaster recovery functionality, how it behaves, how fast the backups are done. And the reduction of data. • Valuable Features It's very simple to manage. It has reduced the footprint in the datacenters quite a lot. • Use of Solution One to three years. • Stability Issues The stability is also okay. • Scalability Issues It scales quite nicely. We are not very big so I don't know if it really scales up that big. But for a small to medium company, I would say it is much...

What needs improvement?

* For SimpliVity to become a true DC solution, the limit of 32 nodes needs to be investigated. While this may not be a significant deterrent, it brings into question the underlying architecture. * HPE support is still not aware/trained on... more»

How has it helped my organization?

SimpliVity has provided our organization with a cost effective DR/data protection solution. Training time has be reduced due to SimpliVity's seamless integration with vCenter Flex and Flash clients.

What needs improvement?

* SimpliVity needs to improve the support for native backups, like SQL and Exchange. * File level restores work well, but indexing will help make the process faster. * SimpliVity needs to add support for Hyper-V and KVM.
