The most valuable asset is relationship building because the solution discovers and builds auto relationships in a way that makes cleanup very easy. Normally, when you discover data you get a lot of junk so only 30% of data might be useful. 

With the solution, it is easy to establish a relationship and discard the 70% of data that you don't want to use.

ServiceNow's Discovery feature is quite significant because it allows for service mapping and integrates with VIN management. It involves adding a business context to servers, routers, switches, and data centers. This means understanding not only what's installed on these systems and how they function together but also recognizing their significance in terms of business applications from the business's perspective and how they impact business processes and capabilities. So when we delve into these aspects and connect them to the essential components, it can help you engage in more meaningful discussions to enhance capacity management practices. In essence, it contributes to the overall IT portfolio, almost functioning as a business platform. This platform is accessible to users who leverage the data to initiate incidents, implement changes, and resolve problems. Consequently, consolidating all configuration items or assets into a unified platform makes sense, especially considering you already have Discovery in place. If the cost is reasonable, the other two components might not provide much value, except for their user-friendliness, which is often less important to leaders compared to the desired outcomes.

The best thing about Discovery is maintaining all the CIs in one place. 

I can sort the data, export it to Excel for manipulation, and build reports like how many computers or servers we have and their capacity. 

ServiceNow also offers agentless Discovery, where we can see what software is installed on laptops. 

We can even run commands to discover all the software on a PC. This helps us see if users are missing any of our essential tools and services. That's a great thing about Discovery.

ServiceNow has a very effective product offering named Discovery, which is a fairly easy-to-use and impactful tool. In our company, we don't find any hurdles when it comes to ServiceNow Discovery. ServiceNow Discovery is easy to implement, and its scalability features are quite easy to use. ServiceNow Discovery can scan networks very quickly and populate the CMDB very well without much programming requirements or effort. The tool is completely a low-code tool. All the other exercises that our company needs to do for an effective scan are quite easy with the solution. It is quite easy to understand ServiceNow Discovery.

The most important feature of ServiceNow Discovery is the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules. It makes sure of unique identification for each component, like an application or a database, and uploads it to the CMDB. This engine prevents duplicates or errors when importing data into the CMDB, which is a critical feature. So, it is a pretty fantastic feature.

Cloud Discovery is valuable because it finds global, public cloud infrastructures and updates the integration management database, service catalogs, and asset management details. 

The store is a key differentiator because it offers many compatible third-party and OEM plugins for cloud integrations like AWS, Azure, Adobe, and Microsoft. For example, there are service providers for license and asset management, there is a mid-service for Quantum Discovery, and there are plugins from AWS for service or asset management and CMDB integrations.

In ServiceNow this is ITSM and there's ITIL. So far, we've found that ITSM is the most popular. 

The ability to pull reports to check the health of the IT platforms is quite useful. You can pull reports daily to look at everything from capacity issues to physical instances.

The service mapping is excellent.

The maturity of the solution is very good. We're driving our customers to obtain that level of maturity in their own IT space.

The process involving the original setup of the solution is excellent.

The most valuable feature is its integration with CMDB, as it collects all the data.

Another best feature for me is the ability to set up MID Serve remotely, which is a really nice addition. With MID Serve, we can do the configuration remotely, which saves us a lot of time and effort.

In the past, I found troubleshooting difficult in ServiceNow Discovery because I didn't have much exposure to the platform during that time, but then I explored some troubleshooting features, and I found that it wasn't that tough, so this is one of the qualities I like about ServiceNow Discovery.

I also like that log reading in ServiceNow Discovery is much better than other tools.

Another valuable feature of the tool is that you don't need to install many tools to deploy ITSM. You only need to subscribe to the modules to deploy the proper ITSM in your organization.

One of the most valuable features of ServiceNow Discovery is the automated discovery that helps identify dependencies, and then my company gets a report on that. My company has many applications, whether developed internally or bought off the shelf, and my company needs to know which application has a dependency on what. Sometimes, developer teams make changes to applications, which then causes other ecosystems to crash, which is where ServiceNow Discovery comes in.

Another valuable feature of the solution is security management related. The security landscape in this post-pandemic world is very different, so you don't want to have insecure access to any of the applications, especially ones focused explicitly on service management and service delivery for clients. Hence, my company also uses ServiceNow Discovery for more secure access and communication using certificates between different parties involved, which is beneficial.

The initial setup is pretty easy.

The solution is fairly stable.

The security is very good. We have encryption supported from ServiceNow and therefore I haven't found any issues surrounding safety concerns.

There are a lot of use cases with ServiceNow Discovery, as it's a huge platform. We mostly use the solution's ITSM and ITOM capabilities in most workflows.

Since I'm very much involved in the ITOM workspace, I like CMDB, CSDM, and Discovery. That's why I have been exploring ServiceNow Discovery versus Tanium. I'm quite excited about the future cloud integration potential that ServiceNow can provide.

The best part about ServiceNow Discovery is that it is included in the ServiceNow suite. With other solutions, it is a separate product. You still have to pay an additional fee, but it is within the same framework.

The architecture is really simple and it is easy to use.
