What is most valuable?

I didn't like the data analysis features at first, but they were actually quite good. The built-in machine-learning models that they have are quite extensive and useful. There are a few models that are normally not found in any other… more»

What needs improvement?

There are a few ways the solution could be made better. The graphical user interface could be made more friendly. I mean from the GUI point of view, it is a little dated. But from a functionality point of view, I think even for people who… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Our approximate cost as we understand from the company is that the total is $5,000 per user per year for the desktop production license. So, for us and the ten licenses we need, that means the production license would be around $50,000 per… more»

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before Alteryx we tried of KNIME. The learning curve for KNIME is steeper than Alteryx. Alteryx is much more user-friendly than KNIME, at least from our experience on both products. Also, KNIME functionality is limited for the free version… more»

What other advice do I have?

I have a really good impression of Alteryx at this point in time. So I would suggest to people who are considering this type of solution to go ahead and try it. If you are looking for a self-service data analytics tool, Alteryx is a good… more»

What is most valuable?

I think the most valuable feature is the ease of use for my business scientists. They do not need to be experts in R and Python coding, and they can do their complete analysis projects without knowing… more»

How has it helped my organization?

The ease-of-use has allowed our business users to directly create their own solutions without the use of additional development resources.

What needs improvement?

I'm sure there is always development happening with the product, but I think there should be both cloud and on-premises options. We have not seen a cloud deployment and have not heard they will be… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have a yearly cost that we pay for the licensing. We do not pay any costs in addition to the licensing fees. The technical support is included as part of the fees that we pay.

What other advice do I have?

Advice that I would give to people considering Alteryx as a solution depends on the real needs from business to business and in accord with what use cases they have. I think Alteryx definitely takes… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before we choose Alteryx, we did weigh other options from different vendors. In fact, we still use other technologies. We cannot properly service client needs by just using Alteryx as the only… more»

What is most valuable?

* The codeless concept and speed of processing are unique. Super intuitive to use and easy to master. No coder needed. * I did not find a data source that I could not… more»

How has it helped my organization?

Alteryx speeds up the time to obtain business answers/insights on data. It can quickly process huge amounts of data. It allows you to have your business prepare their own… more»

What needs improvement?

Even when it already includes some AI models, this area could be improved. The another area which could be improved is the visualizations. It would be great to create the… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Opt for the three year subscription. It is 20% less than the yearly one. It is $4,000 a year, so it is cheap versus other solutions. It also accomplishes three times the… more»

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used several ETL tools, but none had the scope of Alteryx nor the ability to perform the analysis itself.

What other advice do I have?

Download the trial and test it. You will be amazed. It is the complete package for people who work with data. Most important criteria when selecting a vendor: * Provide a… more»

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I evaluated Datawatch and QlikView. Datawatch: Performance was not great and it was not so straightforward to implement.

What is most valuable?

There's no single feature I can think of that stands out as being the most valuable, but we've worked on multiple areas such as analytical apps, especially to connect with Facebook, LinkedIn, and multiple other online data APIs. We also use batch macros to automate and repeat steps many times over… more»

What needs improvement?

I think the only area where the product lags is documentation and videos on the analytical app and the batch macro. We have learned the hard way, but I see people struggling there. Secondly, the tools for data science are not as user-friendly as KNIME. Additional features that could be included… more»

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We use several solutions for our clients. The two main ones are NAN and Alteryx. Probably 70% use Alteryx and 30% NAN.

What other advice do I have?

I would suggest that the decision to purchase the product should be based on a company's level of deployment. If it's for a process for a pharma company, which is a smaller enterprise. then I recommend starting with NAN. As the data gets bigger, switch to Alteryx. I think they should have a student… more»

How has it helped my organization?

It provides opportunities to do some pretty complex tasks easily, without having to worry about the Java. The tools are built-in. You just plug and play, drag and drop, once you understand how to use the tools, it is easy.

What needs improvement?

I think better visualization would be helpful. In terms of data extraction, during the sequel queries of servers as an example, you can structure your sequel query and it's fine, very readable, but once you run it, it crashes into one… more»

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It is a little bit pricey. The desktop version is cheaper, it is on a one year license. And, if you want to do anything on an enterprise name it is quite expensive. The current pricing model may get to be too much in three to four years… more»

What other advice do I have?

I would advise that you should ask yourself what you need and want, and do a one-month trial.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We also considered DataBricks.

What is most valuable?

The giga size is very good. The solution offers excellent predicting power. The accuracy and confidence have been great. You don't have to be tech-savvy or technical to use the solution. There's a lot of drag-and-drop functionality.

What needs improvement?

The visualization could be improved, as could the BID bots. The solution could work on the BI side of the tool to make it a bit better.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've worked with other solutions such as Knime, among others, however, in a corporate environment, I've only worked with Alteryx.

What other advice do I have?

We're Alteryx partners. We handle various deployment models, depending on the client's needs. I've worked with other solutions such as Knime, among other tools for data science and data prep. It's great that this solution is just drag and drop and easy. I'd recommend the solution. I'd rate it 9.5… more»

What is most valuable?

I actually like all of their features. But the feature I have found most valuable is the data profiling. I can check the quality of my data and everything else.

How has it helped my organization?

It has helped across my organization. Let's say we have a client that has been mostly using Excel for their data preparation, data casing, etc. By using Alteryx, they now spend most of their time in the data prep and then just go to reporting. It saves a lot of time.

What needs improvement?

Alteryx is very good - I don't see any room for improvement. I can't think of any downside to Alteryx. I use a lot of third-party tools with Alteryx. It would be great if Alteryx could take third party tools and incorporate them.

What other advice do I have?

Alteryx is very good. You can do literately anything on Alteryx. Alteryx is so advanced. It's just drag and drop. You don't need to know any coding or other technical stuff to use Alteryx. On a scale from 1 to 10, where 1 is the worst and 10 is the best, I would rate Alteryx a 10. No doubt, a 10.

What is most valuable?

All of the features are valuable to us. The data prep and blending are great but so is the machine learning functionality. We used spatial analysis, which is a good feature.

How has it helped my organization?

Alteryx has made us more agile and increased the speed and effectiveness of decision making.

What needs improvement?

The server is too expensive for what you get and it is really a designer desktop on a server. It is not worth the money.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The server pricing is high.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not use another solution prior to this one.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate other options before choosing Alteryx.
