Reliable but outdated

What is our primary use case?

It's an integral part of our surveillance. Specifically, I do futures surveillance across all products. I look at futures trades for in-house and customers across fixed income, equities, and FX. That's my specific use case, but my colleagues, who do product surveillance in fixed income, use a Global Actimize solution to also look at a specific products like OTC treasuries versus fixed income futures and other products. Pros and Cons

  • It's a very good case management system.
  • I would say — Actimize is not being moved forward by Nice.

Cost and Licensing Advice

  • I don't like the length of our vendor contracts because it kills our flexibility.

What other advice do I have?

From our experience, when these products are launched, they're highly supported by the vendor, in this case, Nice. But as they get more mature, the vendor wants to develop new solutions and charge more money, and the new solutions are more sophisticated and do more things and have more buttons and such, but they start to slow down and stop supporting their older products. I would say — Actimize is not being moved forward by Nice. We have to move towards a new platform because we want some diversification. We use a lot of Nice products for coms and voice recordings. Superior transaction monitoring to crackdown on money laundering

What is our primary use case?

I use this solution for transaction monitoring. Within my company, roughly 50 people use this solution. Within our other branches, I would estimate that there are roughly 200 people using this solution — mostly analysts and supervisors in charge of compliance. My team does the testing. From the bank-side, we are the product owner. If there are any requirements from the end-users, we raise it to the Actimize team.     I would recommend this product to any other organization that wants to use it. My advice would be: it is very important to prepare upfront. What is the main theme or types of configurations that you want to do? This is important because after you have implemented it, it will be very difficult to change it in the future. For example, currently, I'm handling a project for two different countries (Thailand and Vietnam), but it's on the same platform.     Very user-friendly, interactive, informative and very light; a huge time-saver for our company

    We are customers of NICE Actimize (Watch List Filtering, Customer Due Diligence and Suspicious Activity Monitoring modules) and I worked on Sanctions and regulatory affairs during implementation of the solution.

    I would recommend this solution, it's very comprehensive and has given us many insights. We learned a lot from NICE Actimize team which helped us streamlining certain processes in our organization as well. I would rate this solution a 9 out of 10.

    Loads big data efficiently and quickly but requires a lot of hardware

    What is our primary use case?

    We are a financial institution and use this product as an anti-fraud solution. Actimize provides different solutions for different types of fraud, whether it's financing terrorists or money laundering.

    Pros and Cons

    • The solution loads big data efficiently and quickly.
    • Processes don't function when front end is down.

    What other advice do I have?

    The solution requires patience and a fair amount of work and study because there's nothing on the internet. It requires knowledge gained from studying the user guides and decision-making has to be based on that. There's nobody to ask and that's the most difficult part. I would rate this solution a seven out of 10.

    Alerts us to transactions happening in high-risk countries

    What is our primary use case?

    We use it to check all the options for our risk manager, like what kind of entitlements the users have. There are different rules. We use NICE to make that visible. We want to see what reports and options they can see.

    Pros and Cons

    • The alerts are the most valuable feature because we have different alerts. Different data is fed to Actimize. It alerts us if a transaction happened from a certain place.
    • I would like for it to proactively give suggestions or hints before initiating the transaction. It could make use of the data that has already occurred, like machine learning. It should learn patterns from specific countries.

    What other advice do I have?

    Whenever you do any transaction always double-check what you are entering like country codes or account numbers. One or two digits are based here and there and it will make a huge difference. You have to follow up. Be very careful of what you're entering. I would rate Actimize an eight out of ten.
