Great tool for one-to-one migration, but not suitable for multi-cloud migration

What is our primary use case?

Technically, we use this product in regards to cloud data infrastructure migration; however, these are all things that are driven by the customer. If they are interested in a solution, we make suggestions and provide recommendations. When it comes to cloud data infrastructure challenges, mostly we are attempting to achieve cloud migration from an infra point of view. That's where tools like Carbonite Migrate and RiverMeadow come in handy. We use Carbonite Migrate to migrate our customer's data. The migration of data refers to application data and application infrastructure resources — how many… more »

Pros and Cons

  • "Carbonite Migrate is helpful on an infrastructure level."
  • "We find it very difficult to use these tools in a multi-cloud environment"

What other advice do I have?

Overall, out of 10, I would rate Carbonite Migrate a seven. It's quite popular — we are using it, a lot of customers are using it. From an architecture point of view, I'd rate it seven out of ten.

Great for maintaining control and insight across various cloud platforms

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for this product is for a mixed set of services, including providing IT, multi-cloud management, single pane of glass control panel, providing metering and charge-back capability, role-based access control, and other things. It's a long list. My focus specifically is with regard to the data center and cloud. Enterprise businesses are using this solution. We use this solution ourselves as well as for our clients. We're a partner with CloudBolt and I am a solution specialist/product manager of cloud and data center services.

Pros and Cons

  • "Role-based access control and application blueprinting."
  • "Could increase the number of integrations and add more out-of-the-box work flows."

What other advice do I have?

The documentation provided on this solution is quite easy to follow and what they provide is enough to be able to deploy the solution. I would rate this solution an eight out of 10.

A simple interface and helpful support for a solution that grows with us

What is our primary use case?

The solution is primarily used to handle and carry all the traffic that is related to our network, to our company.

Pros and Cons

  • "It offers enough support so that you don't need to have the need to get another device."
  • "The solution is just too expensive, so maybe the pricing could be better."

What other advice do I have?

I strongly recommend the solution to people. I think the interface is very simple and would be familiar to people in the IT community. I would rate this solution at nine out of ten.
