I have solely worked with older versions of SAP Crystal Reports, and as for support, it is limited to on-premises solutions. Regarding deployment, it was handled internally, and there was no involvement of third parties such as integrators, resellers, or consultants.

We worked with an external consultant to set up the solution.

We did the install in-house. The only advice that I can give is to follow the instructions given they are literally fool proof and very straightforward. I would recommend that the Oracle Client, if that is what you are using, be installed first, then install Crystal Reports. Other than that there was no issues.

For implementing just SAP Crystal Reports, there’s no need for a vendor team. However, it’s very helpful to get some training on how to use the software. For the server products, like SAP Crystal Reports Server, it can be helpful to have an SAP Partner assist with configuration and training.

We did the initial setup in-house. Make sure you have detailed step-by-step installation instructions if having a team installing it so everyone gets the exact same setup and things don’t get missed. We’re implementing it through CMC and have an in-house application that pulls the report from CMC.
