What do you think of IBM Guardium?

Primary Use Case: It tests security to support SOX compliance. • Improvements to My Organization: It supports our audit compliance. We use IBM Guardium to support security initiatives and compliance policies within our organization. We have a lot of self controls which require the database to be monitored, especially for the privileged user. • Valuable Features: Its band monitoring. We just started to use it. It should add an application availability dashboard feature and should focus more on the alerting mechanism.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Imperva is a bit costly but reliable in terms of investment.

Not exactly, but we have worked a little bit with Guardium.

What other advice do I have?

Resource overhead management is a good option. The OS chain option provides the real user behind the DB application user.
