Yammer Previous Solutions

We transitioned directly from Workplace by Facebook to Yammer. From a front-end user perspective, they both look very similar and are easy to use. The main advantage of Yammer is that it's included in our Office 365 licensing suite, so it's a significant cost-saving compared to Workplace Facebook, which requires an expensive license.

I was much more involved in numerous Slack channels and Discord channels than Yammer. I used Slack channels, primarily integrating with multiple industries and customer communities within and outside the organization. It is more flexible than Yammer. At the same time, Slack and Discord have a much higher adoption rate regarding group creation and community discussions.

Previously, in my company, we used to use Workplace from Meta or Facebook. Switching to Yammer from Workplace was not my decision.

I previously worked with BambooHR. There was one more tool that I worked with, but I can't recall its name.

I prefer Yammer over BambooHR. Yammer has a much better interface than BambooHR, making it easy for me to do certain searches easily. With Yammer, it's much easier when it comes to doing a task, group creations, and group discussions.

We had Jive and switched for a couple of reasons: interoperability with other systems and a switch to a more easy to use and understand system. The translation feature is incredibly useful for a multilingual company like ours, especially with the Asian language coverage.

There was no tool that I used which served the same purpose. I think SharePoint had a social wall feed, which was similar on team sites, but this wasn't well adopted. Some more technical teams used Slack.

I did not use a previous solution. I think that Facebook's Workplace or StaffConnect would have done the job in a more engaging and user-friendly manner. They would have driven more interaction between staff members.

We didn't use any workgroup tool before Yammer. We adopted Yammer because it was included in the Office 365 toolset.

Our most important criteria when selecting a vendor, apart from the product being easy to use, accessible, cloud-based, include security - that is another big and important criterion for us - and, finally, the ability to reach people who are not in our Active Directory domain.

We were using a different solution named Beezy. It was based on the SharePoint on-premises solution. It wasn't responsive with mobiles and its scalability was weak.
